#HBC Food Worth Talking About

October 9, 2008 by Amy

There are two things I had recommended by EDW that must be passed on.

Angelo and Maxie’s Filet Oscar.  Let’s note first that Heather actually got a steak salad…so proud!  But the steak.  And the crab on top.  And the hollandaise on top.  Oh my word.  Honestly, if you looked “savory” up in the dictionary, a picture of my plate must be in there.  It was like melt in your mouth goodness.  On my last bite, I LITERALLY closed my eyes and held my hands out as if I was meditating.  I wanted to remember that taste THAT much.  DO NOT PASS GO until you get this.

One more thing I have to note.  That stuff in the middle? It’s my “side”.  I ordered onion strings thinking it would a few on the “side” of my plate.  No!  It’s like an appetizer.  Also note the HUGE “side” of potatoes beside that.  All three of us dipped in those.  They were DELISH as well.

And just one more thing.  It’s a very nice restaurant but even better?  They played Pink and Usher instead of elevator music.  Great atmosphere.

The price?  $111 for everything you see on the table.  No drinks.  Just water.  Yes, it’s a splurge dinner.

Junior’s. Cheesecake.  DO NOT PASS GO.  In fact, go order it online.

My you are prolific. I can’t squeeze out one measly NY-related post and here you are with half a dozen. I second you on the food though. I had dinner with a friend of mine at Bar Americain (Bobby Flay’s restaurant), and all I can say is WOW. If the breadbasket alone makes you stop and think “no wonder why this guy has 50 shows on the Food Network!” you are in for a real treat. And that is was!

BusyDad, we just ate at Bobby Flay’s restaurant in Vegas (Mesa Grill.) Totally second you on that one! Amazing food and totally worth the whopping $300 for 4 people. …

I’m just blabbering on about mostly inconsequental things. I have noticed your silent blog this week though *waiting patiently*

$300?? Please tell me that included drinks. Sounds like a yummy place though.

Included 4 drinks (about $15 each). And 4 entrees, and 4 sides. Oh, 2 cups of coffee too. No appetizers, no desserts.

Heather, I know! I realized that way after I posted it. Oh well. I figured it was cheesecake either way. But yes, that picture is from Roxy’s on Broadway. We didn’t make it to Junior’s because of the long time it took us to get back from the Apple store. LOL
