Woo Hoo! It feels good to have the belt on its way again sharing about the need for clean water. It’s not the exact same belt but it’s ok, it can still be a tool to share how needed it is that we make a difference.  In case you missed the news, the belt was lost in transit.  Dani had a similar belt she was willing to give up to continue and we picked up a new journal and got it on its way.  Here is Dawn jump-starting the belt’s travels again.

Sharing Blood Water Belt Story

Reposted from my blog Permission to Peruse

I had the pleasure to share the story of the Blood Water Belt as part of an illustration for our church’s sermon on generosity.  I filmed it last minute the night we got back from Disney at our place in Florida (check out the storms happening behind me!).  I thought I’d share the video and point you to the full sermon so you can see how it was tied in.  Click over to our church’s site and check out Week 3 of the Wise Man Says series.  Below is the unedited video I shared with them.

I’m still in awe He would take my faults and turn it into something good.

Apologies to Mandy who sent this in weeks ago and I didn’t see the email.  Mandy was one of the first ladies to jump on board and I’m so glad to see her in it!

Erica had the belt last week.  Here are her thoughts:

Thank you for letting me participate in the Sisterhood! I wore the belt on a Sunday, and shared the story with all the moms before Sunday School. The belt was certainly a topic of conversation!

In addition to helping people in need, I feel the more important aspect for me personally was the chance to expalin to my 8-year-old son and my 7-year-old daughter why I got the belt, wore it and am passing it on. Both thought it was “so cool” that someone would take a bad feeling (guilt for buying a belt) and turn it into a good one (a ministry project). Thank you for the chance to participate!

This is Rachelle in New Mexico!  I’m so happy it made it across country again and this is the first picture we’ve seen in a while so I’m extra happy to see it’s doing well :)

This is Jennifer in Virginia with the belt this weekend.  As Jennifer said, her little girl was helping her with the picture; you can see her off to the right.   I love, love, love the opportunity this gives us to speak into our children’s lives about the needs of others and letting go of possessions!

Sarah was the third of the ladies that wore the belt at Blissdom.  PLEASE watch the video in her post that her, Amanda and Mandi did, it put me in tears.

Amanda is the second that attended Blissdom in Nashville and got a turn with the belt.  Check out her post which had lots of Blissdom goodies too!

Mandi from Georgia is the first of 3 sisters that wore the belt at Blissdom, a blogging conference held at Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee last weekend.  Check out more from her post on her blog.
