CVS Deals January 6, 2008

January 6, 2008 by Amy

Oh my gosh.  I’m still hardly believing the deals I pulled out today.  Unbelievable.  Look at this…

image

That’s my Walgreens and CVS Deals.  Sort of ignore the two boxes of cereal and Splenda and add in a gallon of milk…do you know how much I paid for all of that from CVS…..

ELEVEN CENTS

Yes, that’s $0.11.  I opened my little change purse and pulled out a dime and penny and went home with that cart full.  And you can’t even see the 3rd roll of wrapping paper there in the back.  As for Walgreens, I paid $7 for the cereal and Splenda.  Not the best deal but it was on sale and I had coupons and was getting low on both and Heather wanted to go there for milk, yadda, yadda, so I went for it.

As for CVS…my receipt says I saved $150 something.  Insane, I tell you!

First off, the Christmas stuff is 90% off so that held a great deal on the amount I saved.  But I got some good deals otherwise.  Let me see if I can list out the really good stuff I got…

  • 2 Aquapod waters
  • Visine
  • 4 Bottles of Chewable baby aspirin
  • Similson (sp?) Pink Eye Drops
  • Aleve
  • 2 Aquafresh
  • 2 Colgate
  • Garnier Fructis Shampoo
  • 2 Lysol Neutra Air
  • Lighter
  • Zantac
  • Gallon of Milk (not pictured)
  • 2 2-pack Rubbermaid containers
  • Monster Energy drink (as a peace-offering for hubby for such a long planning session and trip)

I used a coupon for everything except the milk and Monster drink.

Then I used $10/$50, $5/$30, $3/$15, $2/10 CVS store coupons.

Then I paid $18 ECBs.

My balance was $.11

I also earned $9 ECBs plus it spit out $3/$15.

Find these deals and more at moneysavingmom.com.  Thank you, Crystal!!!

Amy – were you able to use the 10/50, 3/15 etc… coupons all for your one transaction? If so, that is where I screwed up this week!!

Yes, they didn’t give me any trouble with it. I just handed them in the order that needed to be done and I think I had so many, the lady was just scanning them and not looking. The computer let it go through, so if it doesn’t have a problem, I don’t either!

CVS runs specials but withholds merchandise from it’s stores now because so many people are blogging about the deals they got. I work for a CVS and if you do all the deals for a full year you will save close to $10K total given these facts, Tottal ECB’s saved just over 1,000 will equal just over $2,000 total in merchandise which if you had to buy these items it would be Total someone would have to earn in before tax dollars at a job would be $7,000 figure in the cost of getting to work and clothing for work etc. CVS saves many families that second low income. However, the new policies are changing so much of the savings that these after holiday savings are just a fluke. The withholding of product and giving rainchecks is more the common store policy then when the items are in store there are zero ecb’s on them which makes it nearly impossible for folks to get the full benefits of the advertised specials.

Is there anyway you could explain the

    "Then I used $10/$50, $5/$30, $3/$15, $2/10 CVS store coupons" part please?

Niki, those are coupons that CVS gives. For example the $10/$50 means you can get $10 off a $50 purchase. At the time I wrote this, CVS was allowing us to stack the different coupons but now they only allow one of those (as far as I know).
