SYTYCD

May 23, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Thanks, Jaynee for reminding me to blog about So You Think You Can Dance premiere!   The video she has posted of Robert Muraine definitely was the highlight of the night.  He was just awesome.  I think I’ve watched him 3 or 4 times now and I still am in amazement.

I have to say though, parts of last night were NOT family-friendly.  I had to turn it off once the underpants man came out.  Lexi yells in to Emma, “Emma, there’s a boy with no clothes on!”  I quickly turn the tv off and Emma begs me to see it!  There were a couple other clips that were a little too much for the preschoolers.

Wasn’t Dominique funny watching the soccer player?  I love seeing him and Travis and all the “graduates”.  I hope some of them come on the show and do some dances.

Jonathan Anzalone the Italian was extremely entertaining and extremely good-looking and extremely cocky.  And not so good at “dancing”.  Mia’s freudian slip was HILARIOUS.

Phillip Chbeeb who was there for a second time was just awesome as well.

Should be a great season!

Grey’s Anatomy Finale

May 23, 2008 by Amy 3 Comments

I can not even begin to express how much I LOVED Grey’s last night.  The end I would say ranks up there with one of the top TV moments ever.  Seriously.  It was a beautifully, romantic moment that we’ve been waiting for really since the beginning of the show.  It was so wonderful to actually see that moment in the finale and not just an awful cliffhanger. Yes, there was part of a cliffhanger there but it was enough.  More than enough.  It was so wonderfully wonderful. And it wasn’t just the last few moments that was wonderful.  It was wonderful watching Meredith work through her mommy issues.  The moment Rebecca’s story was intertwined with Meredith’s with her once again mopping up blood on the floor of the exact same kitchen, well it was just divine writing right there.  And then the story of the two patients.  How cute were Mer/Der outside of the room protecting them?  And Derek’s anger of disappointing Meredith over and over.  His anger was actually awesome to watch.  And for Rose to hear it and realize what he was saying.  Derek’s fairytale was being crushed and it was heartbreaking to watch.  But the payoff was worth it.  Meredith got whole and healed and it was just wonderful.

The Callie/Hahn thing was completely unnecessary.  I do have to say I liked the writing of that though…the patient not wanting to show her love because she would be made fun of and how they both in the end went for it.  I don’t like that it was Callie and Hahn but it was well written.

George…poor guy it was 1 point.  But I liked he realized he IS great and now he gets to take the exams again!  Yay!

Chief demanding to come home…I agree with Adele…it’s about time he stood up for her!

And poor Alex.  My mouth hung open after he called Izzie a you-know-what.  What a jerk.  He ruined any good vibes I had from him taking care of Rebecca.  But in the end, broken Alex broke down and Izzie was there.  Izzie’s always there.  I love them together so it was great to see the kiss but it was for all the wrong reasons.  Maybe someday.  Maybe after he goes and visits Meredith’s shrink.

Yang was so funny this episode and LOVED how she told off Hahn.   Good to see a not whiny, dark Yang.

And maybe I could write another page on this episode.  Because it was just that wonderful.  Definitely one for the books.

Day 8

May 21, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

The Hilarie news notwithstanding, today was NOT a great day.  My antibiotic made me sick all day.  I had to take Emma to get her filling today and I even had to get the assistant to get me a Dr. Pepper and Pringle’s because I felt so sick.  I think they were afraid I was going to pass out.

Speaking of her filling, Emma did SO GREAT.  The laughing gas however did NOT have a calming affect.  She was bouncing her legs on the chair and literally jumping up and down while we were leaving.  For some reason, I’m not surprised.  She did really well with the dentist though. She was really still and didn’t cry one bit.  I don’t think she knew what to do with her numb lip though.  She kept telling me it felt funny.

I spent most of the rest of the afternoon and evening lying down.  I didn’t even go to bible study or church.  The nausea would come in waves and I’d simply have to lie down and it would settle.  I made sure to eat a granola bar just now though and plan to head straight to bed so I don’t have to deal with it through the night hopefully.  The good news is the lump seems to have gone down some.  Keep praying it makes it go away!

AI Finale

May 21, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Wow, that was one jam-packed finale.  It was the best finale by far to date.  I don’t know if I can even begin to comment on all the performances.  A few highlights though…Archey should definitely have sung Apologize instead of the Chris Brown song for his modern song.  So excited when Bryan Adams was announced.   What was with Archey and Cookey without pants in the Guitar Hero commercials?  The Jack Black thing was WAAAYY too long.

I thought Archey did well last night but by this afternoon, I kept trying to picture whose name I wanted Ryan to call and it was definitely Cookey’s so yay!  I’m really excited about the outcome.  Nice to see a solid contemporary rocker win.  Can’t wait to see them in concert!
