The Snow of 2009

January 20, 2009 by Amy

I’m very sure this will be The Snow for us for 2009. The kids are beyond excited. I think they were more excited about it this morning than they were for Christmas. Unfortunately it wasn’t heavy enough to make snowballs or a snowman. They were able to throw it around a bit and make a few snow angels. It was enough to satisfy them. They were wanting in for hot chocolate within 20 minutes. I’m sure when Scott wakes up from working last night he’ll have them back out there for a bit. Until then, I’m having a regular work day and the girls are enjoying their day off watching cartoons and playing inside.

That’s enough snow for a snow day?! I am guessing Fort Mill doesn’t have too many salters/snow plows. We call that a “dusting”.

The girls look like they are having fun and that’s all that matters. Enjoy and stay warm!

Yes, way more than enough for a snow day. We just have to have flurries and the town shuts down. We just don’t have the equipment to handle it. And no reason to since we only get one day a year like this if we’re lucky.

What happens here is that school buses will be cancelled but the schools will be open and parents are expected to get the kids there. As I told you, we have had one school closure in the last 10 years and that wasn’t even a whole day…they called the parents at noon to say they were closing. Matthew and Leila were very excited for your guys this morning…one of their favourite movies is “Snow Day”.
