It’s always the little things

April 8, 2009 by Amy

Scott spent yesterday putting out new mulch. Instead of spending the money on getting it delivered, he spent $10 and got a higher grade mulch. I couldn’t quit staring at it yesterday it made me so happy. The yard looks so much better and ready for some spring flowers!

Do you just put new mulch over the old mulch or do you take up the old stuff altogether? We have nasty bark mulch that I want to get rid of and *shocker* put down pine straw. I hate pine straw, but I think it stays in place so much better on windy days.

We put it over the old mulch every year. I actually think pine straw would do worse in wind.
Scott wanted to do pine needles but I like the mulch so much better.
