Happy 5th Birthday, Lexi

November 3, 2009 by Amy

A new baby.  A clean slate.  No inkling of what this little bundle of joy would bring.

No, we didn’t know that you would be sweet

Or quiet

Or loud

Or shy

Or outgoing

Or charming

All at the same time

We didn’t know that you would love chicken

Or ketchup

Or vanilla ice cream

Or chocolate milk

Or suckers

Or grilled cheese and tomato soup (just to dip it in)

We didn’t know that you would love all that glitters

sparkles

and shines

How were we to know that you would love Hannah Montana

Or iCarly

Or Spongebob

Or Disney Princesses

Or Marley and Me

We certainly didn’t know you would like closed doors

Or closed drawers

Or nifty hangars

Or carpet cleaners

Or Oxi-clean

We didn’t know that you would love tights

Or shoes

Or purses

Or spare change

Or bracelets

Or necklaces

Or sunglasses

I guess we just weren’t prepared for Lexi.

Little girl, I couldn’t love you anymore if I tried.  Thank you for being you.  Thank you for being Lexi.  Thank you for being my daughter.

I love you.

Happy 5th Birthday, Lexi.

I adore her dressed as a bride, that is just too precious. That’s a perfect photo for those cute wedding slideshows.

Ok, you have just made the most compelling case for having kids that I’ve ever heard. Not that you’ve changed my mind, but if anything would it would be that.

I remember the day of that top photo shoot as if it were yesterday. Was that really almost 5 years ago?

Happy birthday to Lexi, the youngest bridesmaid I had and the only one that didn’t need to get her hair done!

Aw, Melissa, I hadn’t thought about that! You probably COULD have done her hair though with all she was born with!
