Trade in Your Books with Amazon.com

March 9, 2010 by Amy

By accident I found out that you could trade your used books into Amazon.com for gift cards!   Sweet!  So here’s the deets:

You can find it on the right sidebar when you’re viewing the book you want to trade in.

It will tell you right away how much you’ll get for the book.

Here’s how it works:

You select the book you want to trade-in, you then get a shipping label and packing slip you print at home.  You then ship them for FREE.  Once received, you get your gift card in your account.

Easy-peasy!

No way! That is so cool. I have a big pile I was going to take to the used book store but I am going to check them there first. Thanks!

Hmm. I have been investigating, and it only seems to work with some books. Less popular books, which mine all seem to be, don't have the gift card option. Boo hoo. Guess I'll just trade in all the best sellers I've already read.

I just tried to "trade in" about a dozen books on Amazon, and thus far I've gotten offered a nickel for one of them. LOL
