Cute Boys and Infomercials

September 13, 2011 by Amy

as-seen-on-tv

Lexi’s love of infomercials is well known and very well documented.  To date, she has encouraged us to buy Oxiclean, stacking hangers, deep-cleaning vacuums, space-saving bags and my favorite, to have laser hair removal.

Her infomercial ways have struck again. To be fair, this is less infomercial and more generic commercial. But still.

The girls were at Mom’s shop (where my sister Heather works too) waiting for Mom to take them to the allergy doctor and the following conversation occurs:

Lexi: Heather, do you have a boyfriend?

Heather: No.

Lexi: I can get you one.

Heather: Really. How’s that?

Lexi: It’s on a dot com.  I saw it on TV.  The boys are really cute.

Ladies, you are welcome.

Alrighty, just so I know Lexi isn’t alone in her love of infomercials, someone tell me the last As Seen on TV product you bought.

Ha! My kids are infomercial junkies, too! They BEG me to buy everything they see- most recently, Slushy Magic and Press Dough. I’ve bought neither. The only ASOTV thing we’ve bought were Bendaroos, which were a BIG flop. Just for your information, there’s a big As Seen On TV store in Sevierville, TN that they just might like!

We have one in Concord, NC. We bought some toys that were on tv too. I think we bought the bendaroos and whatever those things are you cut the paper tubes paperoni or something.

My 15 year old daughter is the same way. We were at Target over the weekend and she tried to put an Ab Belt in the cart. She doesn’t weigh 120 pounds dripping wet!

Hahaha! Out of the mouths of babes. And the parental lock goes on the computers in 3, 2, 1….

I’ve been suckered by the infomercials too. The Shark Steam Mop was my biggest dud & waste of money. Sigh.

I heart informercials. Like, really :)! I so want the Baby Bullet for my next baby! I was really intrigued by the dryer ball informercials so I bought one. I got the one that you have to fill with water to decrease wrinkles. I bought it for $3 on clearance at a local store – bargain!
