church

busy day

July 29, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I think today was a pretty busy day.  Church, lunch at IL’s, Target for gift shopping, baby shower at church, shuttle kids to parents, choir, church, shuttle kids back to house, grocery shopping.  I think I sat down for a total of 20 minutes today.  And I’m still up typing here!

I mentioned being concerned about lunch at ILs today but they had corn, carrots, green beans and roast and FIL even made the comment, this should all be good for your points.  Which I thought was nice that they thought of me.

Today I’m strictly under my points and I’m hoping to see that loss tomorrow.   Although Heather, who has been on the diet on and off before, insisted I shouldn’t be weighing myself every day, but weekly.  And she also highly recommended the meetings which I’ve heard from absolutely everyone.  So who knows, maybe you’ll find me at the meeting they have at the Y next week.  I do have some questions that have come up.  Like why in the world I haven’t pooped in 3 days where I’m normally extremely regular?  Is my body in shock?  Does it think I’m on vacation or something?  Who is this woman and where’d all the sweets go?? Ok, just kidding, TMI, I know.  I don’t think I could seriously ask that in a group setting.  But I’m wondering about these oils you’re supposed to have every day and which count and why.

Tonight at youth group bible study was really good.  St pitched the plan of small groups and teams we’ve been working on for several months as a leadership team and if it helped no one else, it helped me.  He encouraged them that they really could basically run the youth group on their own on a Wednesday night except for the pastor and it could remain the same and they can step up during small groups and within their teams and make the thing keep running. I needed that because I needed to hear that this isn’t the end.  That there’s hope even without him.  As I mentioned though, I wasn’t as worried about the youth group as the church.  No mention whatsoever was made that St was leaving in church today.  Nothing else exciting happened either.  St did the song special and honestly, I sat there and soaked it in, so sad that may be the last solo I hear him sing at our church.

I think I’m giving up thinking of titles for these things.

L was here today which helped a bunch.  The girls are really starting to get attached to her.  Today Emma says L, I love you.  Lexi got hurt last week sometime and I tried to console her and she said, I want L!  Which is great!  That means they are trusting her more and she can do her job better.  Which means I can do my job better.

After work today I made it to the gym.  I ended up only going once last week.  But after hitting a new weight gain record this week (excluding pregnancies) I HAVE to get back into working out.  And am thinking about doing Weight Watchers for a time.  Scott lost 25 lbs on it and I’ve heard from countless people it works if you stick to it.  I just have never even entertained the idea of an actual diet plan and I’m clueless.  See, turning 29 is bad.  Bad, bad, bad.  I think my metabolism just knows I turn 30 next year and is preparing itself.  I don’t think the birthday cake, candy bars, cookies and ice cream have ANYthing to do with it.

This evening we spent the entire evening at S&S’s house dealing with that drama I keep talking about.  I’ll spill everything tomorrow on that.  I definitely need to vent about it.

In case you couldn’t tell, I ended up seeing the movie Hairspray last night.  After work, I cleaned up a little, made dinner and then left for Hairspray around 7 with J.  Heather met us there.  If you couldn’t tell from my little review, it was a fabulous movie.  I will definitely want to buy that one when it comes out.

Tonight we have an emergency meeting with our youth council.  ‘Member that drama I was talking about?  Um yeah.  It wasn’t quite what I thought was going to happen but drama is definitely brewing and I can’t go into details until after tomorrow night but suffice it to say I’m super bummed this week and the next few days or even weeks may not be any fun.

Impending Drama

June 26, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Ya’ll, I feel it coming on again.  We had some drama within our youth group last year.  And now, things are brewing again.  I don’t really want to go into details because really, who knows who reads this but please pray that it works out ok.  Things could get really, really bad if it goes wrong.  Best case, it will blow over but I’m guessing at least something will happen and if it does, I will NOT be a happy camper.

Repeat

June 26, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

In a lot of ways today was a repeat of yesterday.  L did come today from about 10-2 yay!  After VBS we went to Blockbuster and they watched their movies for about 30 minutes when we got home and now they are tucked in Emma’s bed.  This is becoming a habit that I’m not sure is good or not.  They do really good together and go right to sleep.  I think it’s sweet for now.  Hopefully it won’t backfire on me.  What would be nice is to give them our queen and have them share a room, us get a king size bed and then make Lexi’s room a playroom or office.

Anyway, VBS was good.  Much less chaotic than last night.  We are picking up kids in a few neighborhoods around town and we have about 60 extra kids no one really knows and they don’t know our church so it made for a confusing first night.  Most of them seemed to settle in tonight though.  My job got hectic though.  Last night I spent time wandering around taking pictures most of the night but tonight I was tasked with getting an individual picture of all ~120 kids.  Yeah, that was fun.  So I was quite busy tonight.

Now I’m home.  Working a little, surfing the Internet a little.  I got Mark Wahlberg’s new DVD Shooter from Blockbuster tonight.  Not sure if I’ll stay up or not.  I drank a Mountain Dew at church tonight so I guess I’ll be up whether I want to or not.

A Blur

June 25, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today was a blur.  I had a hard time getting up this morning.  Lexi woke me up.  I think she may have slid out of Emma’s bed last night (they requested to sleep together last night..and tonight, in fact).  Then the storms were so bad, I couldn’t go back to sleep and then it seemed like I was up every hour.

I worked consistently this morning and then after lunch we went to Mom’s house while our carpet got cleaned.  The rest of the evening was spent at church.  This week is VBS.

Both girls are in the 3-5 class.  Lexi was NOT having it at first but apparently found someone to latch onto and then was fine.  It killed me to walk by and see that scared/confused/someone help me look on her face and not go sit in the class with her the whole time.  I’m not teaching this year.  I’m the technical director whatever that means.  Tonight all I did was hunt around for a DVD player and RCA jacks and then took pictures all night.

The good news is the girls were wiped out by the time we did that, went to the bank, post office and grocery store after that and came home.  They ate a doughnut, put their jammies on and were asleep within 5 mintues, literally.  So here I am.  Scott is at work, I’m on my computer listening to Kelly Clarkson’s new CD and there is absolutely no furniture in the living room.
