American Idol Top 10 Guys

February 26, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

By far, David A was my favorite.  It’s just so easy when he sings.  And beautiful.  Definitely could see him winning this whole thing after that.

I also voted for Jason Castro because he’s just so funny.  I really fell in love with his personality tonight…oh no, don’t make me talk!

Who else…David Cook.  I like him but I have a hard time because I keep trying to compare him to Daughtry and it is just disastrous for me every time.  And the hair!  Cut the hair!

Oh!  David Hernandez.  He was awesome tonight.  Best we’ve seen from him yet and if he continues like that he’ll do well.

Top 7 American Idol Guys

February 19, 2008 by Amy 3 Comments

I was tagged by Paula to tell seven things about me.  So I’m going to double-up and tell you my top 7 guys from American Idol tonight (mostly in the right order)

  1. Michael Johns – he’s got the package.  he sings well, he looks good, he’s confident, and he has an accent.  what more do you want?
  2. Jason Castro – i love his honest shock of the good reviews.  i think he’ll just keep getting better and better
  3. David Archuleta – was he not so cute?  he was SO nervous afterwards but you would have never known it while he was singing.
  4. Robbie Carrico
  5. David Cook – i’m sorry but his hairline is annoying me.  just shave it!
  6. David Hernandez
  7. Danny Noriega – his confidence is starting to grate on my nerves

Lost

February 15, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

I started watching Lost when it premiered just because it was the cool thing to do.  No one quite understood what it was going to be about but by-golly you had to watch it.  I sort of fell of the bandwagon in Season 2 and majorly in Season 3 until the end when I tried to pick back up.  I have a coworker that loves it and he sort of kept me in the loop.  Well, I’ve been watching this season and it ROCKS.

Last night was so, so good. If you want to read a really funny article about the episode, read Watch with Kristin from today.  Her sentiments about Sayid were on-spot.   I was lovin’ Sayid in this episode.  So suave and sexy.  Did you see that hair? Even though he did kill a woman and works for Ben.  What is up with that??  Ben makes it out…

Sawyer wants to play house with Kate!!!  Aw… They could be like the Blue Lagoon couple and build a fort and have babies!  Well, except there are already houses for them.
I like this new Miles guy.  I laughed at his Tubby comment but not nice!  But Hurley’s comment was the funniest of the night…“Oh Awesome, the ship sent us another Sawyer”

American Idol – Hollywood

February 12, 2008 by Amy 4 Comments

*Spoiler Alert*

OK, it’s time to start chatting about American Idol.

Lots of GREAT singers tonight.  Very happy.  And you know what, I think the guys have it this year.  I have several favorites but I’m very, very sad that Josiah is not making it into the top 24.  I’m just so disappointed.  I hope someone picks him up to do something and is no longer living in a car.

I noticed they seemed to concentrate on the people in the top 24.  Which is cool.  It’s nice to go ahead and get to know the people that we’ll see in the rest of the season.

I really liked a David.  I can’t remember which one.   I also liked Michael Johns.  And I don’t remember names but I like the girl that’s never seen an R rated movie.  I also like the little 16 year old.

I think I can finally get into the season now.

Grammy Awards Reaction

February 10, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

I didn’t watch every single second but I thought there were a few moments worthy of mention.

  • First and foremost, Amy Winehouse can sing, but the girl did the potty dance her whole performance.  Watch it again with that in mind and it will provide several minutes of funny. *Update…I think she no longer had to pee when she won.  That was one awkward acceptance speech.  Wow.
  • Carrie Underwood rocks.  Her voice was amazing tonight, especially at the end.
  • Kanye West’s mama song moved me but boy, that man is whiny.  Anyone notice the complaint about the music coming on during his acceptance speech?
  • I have a new appreciation for Bebe Winans.  He is effortless wonderful.
  • Rihanna’s choreography and dancers were awesome.
  • Very sad Daughtry didn’t win 🙁

American Idol 7

January 15, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Um, I’m not even sure this is even worth space on my blog.  AI was disappointing tonight.  A couple of funny people (can we all sing “Let me people go” together) and a couple pretty good people (did anyone notice the Carrie Underwood/Kellie Pickler Jr. setup?).  That’s about it.  Don’t expect much commentary from me going forward unless something better happens or it gets to the finals.

American Idol 7: Here we go

January 15, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Tonight’s the big night.  We start with the American Idol craziness again.  I’m not extremely excited but I’ll be watching for sure.  This American Idol site listed out the contestants and you get to hear some of them.  What I noticed: half these people are already semi-professional.  I always liked the fact that American Idol took people like Carrie Underwood from nowhere and made her a superstar.  A lot of these people already have records and bands and I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem American Idol-ish.  I know people like Blake Lewis were the same in the past but I guess going into knowing some of these people have a head start puts a downer on it.

As for the talent, not all of them had samples of their music but two that stood out to me were Cardin Lee McKinney and Michael Sanfilippo.  No clue who they are but when I went on their myspace, I actually wanted to stay and listen and they have a good look and style about them.

Grey’s Anatomy January 10, 2008

January 11, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

OK, last episode for quite some time and what’d we think?  I thought this was one of Grey’s more serious episodes.  They’ve done a few like this in the past I think and while I wouldn’t want every episode to be like it was tonight, I thought it was good.

I really thought Meredith and Derek were going to be good.  Meredith really irritated me tonight.  I mean, come ON!  He was with her and then decided that he wanted to be with Meredith and WAS GOING TO BUILD HER A HOUSE.  I don’t know, maybe she’s right.  He didn’t come clean about Addison or Rose and the whole fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me thing..I get it.  She doesn’t trust him.  He should have come to her and said I kissed Rose and realize all I want is you.  THAT would have been sweet.  But on the other hand, why couldn’t the explanation be enough?  I don’t know.  I really did like that Derek asked Rose out.  It didn’t bother me like I thought it would.  I think I’m just ready for something different.

I love Alex.  I liked those women who could see he was a hurt little boy in a jerk of a man’s body.  But I still love him.  That hurt little boy is in there and I love to see when it comes out.  Which I guess it doesn’t too much except times like tonight when he goes and gets Izzie and tells her she’s way better that Yang.

I can not get into the Hahn and McSteamy thing.   That whole scene where Hahn tells McSteamy they’d be an item if they weren’t coworkers.  Well, that just grossed me out.

I do like Hahn and Callie together though.  They play well off of each other.  I think because Hahn is actually as tall as Callie.  lol.

Poor Izzie telling George’s mom about George and Callie.  That SO something I would do.  And then George goes and does the same thing to Meredith.

I could hardly watch the scenes with Bailey’s son in them.  Wow.  Watching any child suffer is hard.

I’m just so frustrated that they really had Bailey’s husband leave her.  The last remaining marriage splits.  I was so hoping they could redeem it somehow but no.  AND in the episode that was about faith.

And as for the theme on faith, I thought it was well played out.  I like the Chief’s comment about it may not working but it surely wouldn’t hurt.

Christina finally put someone in front of herself in this episode to hold Tucker’s hand and you have to give her points for that.  Although if she had left his side, I might have had to write her off my good list for good.

I guess that’s enough babbling about that…any reactions from the peanut gallery on the episode?
