Laughing Your Way to a Better Marriage

August 22, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Mark Gungor is a speaker/singer/former pastor who speaks on marriages.  Somehow my parents found him on Life TV or something like that.  It was an hour or so show.  It was so funny my mom went straight to his web site and bought the 4 disc DVD set.  I’ve watched two of four of the discs and let me just say, this is HILARIOUS.  It was the kind where you clap your hands, slap your knee and nudge your partner kind of laughing.  You should watch it whether or not you have marriage issues, it is just extremely entertaining and even eye-opening.  Simple things you thought only you and your partner goes through seems to be a universal issue.  He talks in one about the “Tale of two brains”, talking about the differences between men in women in things like communication and s-e-x drive.  In the second disk it is called “Yo Momma” giving the top 5 list of ways to have the best s-e-x you’ve ever had.  Yes, it’s very entertaining and I highly recommend it…

I know a Survivor!!

August 22, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

And I mean CBS’s Survivor!  And I guess I don’t technically KNOW the survivor, but just about as close as I can get to her.  Leslie Nease is a local Christian radio personality, which I listen to from time to time.  She lives in Fort Mill as well, has children in the schools here and guess what else?  teaches at my Y.   And I could have sworn I’ve written about her on here before but one morning I went to a cycling class and although she never introduced herself I figured out through the workout that that’s who she was.  I knew she taught a bible study there but I didn’t realize at the time that she taught as well.  But a lot of the songs she played she said were new Christian songs and it was kind of funny, she talked as if she was on the radio, commenting on the songs and giving insights.  She even apologized one time saying she can’t help herself when she gets a mic in front of her.  It was a good class.

So our newspaper runs an article today that says she has been chosen as a contestant and will not be back on the radio until after the finale.

She is a really, really nice person.  I’m guessing she will be very outspoken about her faith,.  The paper even mentions she is seeing this as a sort of missions trip.  So I’m predicting she will be either well liked and do really well or be one of the first to go.  In either case, I WILL be watching this season of Survivor.

SYTYCD Finale

August 17, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

So I’ve been keeping up with this show but haven’ t mentioned it too much.  It seems the ones going each week were pretty predictable and if not predictable, ok by me.  The top 4 though was a little questionable about who would go first and who would win.  To me, Lacey had seemed to be a crowd favorite from the get-go.  But as my sister and I agreed, she was consistently good, but Sabra and Danny really showed some improvement through the season.  Danny had a very, very strong night Wednesday night and I thought–and hoped–for sure he would win, especially when I saw Lacey dropped out first.  I am very happy with the results.  Sabra is an AMAZING dancer.  She makes everything look so natural and yet so professional.  She has so much attitude and yet is humble.  Danny is simply amazing.  His lines and techniques are far beyond anyone else I think.  I’m no expert but I don’t think anyone can argue with that.  So I have to admit to chanting Danny’s name as Cat rambled on and fidgeted with envelopes (I love Cat, but the suspense seemed to last forever).  I was disappointed that Danny didn’t win, but it was good to see a female win and Sabra definitely deserves it as well.  I definitely think this was the best season so far and am looking forward to next year!

Rock of Love Bret Michaels

July 23, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I’m embarassed to say I’ve sat through two episodes of this show.  This is like watching a train wreck.  You see it on tv and your finger can not seem to press the up or down button to miss the wreckage.  It’s awful.  The girls are just, gosh, how do I not be mean???  Well, you’d just have to see for yourself I suppose.  I’ve never been a loyal fan to Poison or Bret Michaels and in no way is he making it to my fake boyfriend list but I do find him attractive, he is surprisingly well-spoken, he’s very calm, cool and collected even when he’s uh, excited, or angry, and he’s quite a charming and funny guy.

Scott Baio is 45 and single

July 23, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Scott Baio.  I was a big fan of Charles in Charge growing up so this show caught my eye.

I caught the last 10 minutes of this show last Sunday and then downloaded the free full episode from iTunes.  Then last night was a new one.  I really enjoy this show.  It’s number one, interesting to hear about this guy’s past “love life”.  It seems he was playing the piano (phrase stolen from Ace & TJ, sorry) with anyone and everyone and treating like it was as simple as drinking a cup of coffee.  Hmm, wonder why he’s 45 and single??  Anyway.  Quite interesting as well to see what Doc Allie makes him do.  Go see his first?  Go see a couple married over 50 years?  Go apologize to the one girl that caught him cheating?  Yes, it’s all very interesting to see THOSE conversations.  He does seem to be quite the charming guy although I am quite unsure why he has the friends that he does.  That one guy is an absolute jerk and user.  Geesh, I can’t wait for the episode where Doc Allie tells Scott to drop him.  I’m curious to know if he stays with his current girlfriend Renee after the 8 weeks.  She is the first one he’s never cheated on but at the same time, he seems to question himself an awful lot about her.  I guess that’s normal though.  Maybe it is the real thing this time and he just doesn’t recognize it yet.  Anyway, I think I’ll be checking out the rest of the season.

On Victoria Beckham

July 17, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I’m not sure whether I want to BE her and BE WITH her.  Wow.  I watched her new show last night and she is so. pretty.  Every time she would come on the screen I was like, She’s pretty.  Perfect body, gorgeous hair, impeccable style, very witty and do we need to mention her husband?

Yes, we should mention her husband.

He’s hot.  And talented.  And 60 Billion dollars.  Omg, I could look like Victoria if I had that much money to spend.  Back to David…where was I?  Oh yes, he’s hot and talented and rich.  Those W pictures?  They are both hot.  Have I mentioned how hot both of them are?

Yeah, Welcome to America, Victoria and David.

Bachelor/DWTS/AI

May 23, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Yay, Tessa wins.  Although my pick Bevin made it to the finale, Tessa finally stepped up in the last few dates and won Andy’s heart.  I’m so happy for them although I about begged them to get a room on the After the Rose show.

Yay, Apolo wins.  Very excited about that.  I really think he deserved it although Joey did extremely well also.

Yay, Jordin is going to win AI.  Although I really, really like Blake and will buy his album 100 times faster than Jordin’s, I thought Jordin’s last performance won her the title.  And I’ve said for awhile she’s AI material.  So go Jordin.  Both zabasearch and dialidol have called the winner and I don’t think it will be a surprise to anyone.
