So here’s some Bachelor scoop

May 11, 2004 by Amy

So here’s some Bachelor scoop for you. A lady that works with my mom saw Trish in Vegas! And guess where she was with and what she was doing? The answer: making out in the hotel pool with an old man! Yuck! My mom’s friend and her friend both realized who it was at the same time. They said it was the trashiest thing they’d ever seen.

My weekend kind of took

May 8, 2004 by Amy

My weekend kind of took a different turn. MIL called and wanted to keep Emma overnight and take her to our hometown’s spring thingy. Mom was planning to come Friday so I had her take Emma back home with her to MIL to spend the night. I will be going up there tonight so I can be with Emma on Mother’s Day. Scott has to work tonight so he’ll come up tomorrow. It is very strange without Emma. Last night I went shopping and then came back and took a book to the pool and read for about 45 minutes. It felt SO good out last night. It was 95 degrees here yesterday so at about 7:30 it felt really good. I didn’t too much else last night except watch all my decorating shows. This morning I tried to sleep in but I was up for the day by 7:00. And I have no reason I can’t go back to bed but I’m not going to. I’m actually working on engagement party invitations for my friend. We’re giving her a party next month. I’m kind of new to this engagement party thing but I guess it’s something you do these days. I mean, I remember them when I got married (only 6 years ago!) but it seemed it was only for like high-class people or something.

I’m watching Josh Gracin from American Idol on CMT right now. I don’t ever watch CMT and am never in my car to listen to country. I had no idea he had a record out. Hmm, he sounds like a pro.

Ok, back to invitation making.

So things on the transfer

May 6, 2004 by Amy

So things on the transfer front are looking good still. Scott talked to Captain this morning and he said he would support. We now just wait for the Colonel to give his approval and send us a transfer letter. I can’t see any reason why he would not give his approval so yay!

Emma did a first today…she stepped up on the curb without my help! It seems so insignificant, but we have a lot of curbs here at the apartment and I’m constantly having to be right beside her so she can climb everywhere. Now she can do it by herself. In reality, she probably could have done it for awhile but I always tell her to wait for mommy at the curb. Hopefully she can step down soon!

I need to do lots of cleaning but I really don’t want to. Mom is coming tomorrow after lunch so that will be a good kick in the butt tomorrow morning. I did manage to straighten up at least. Although that doesn’t mean much because she’ll have about 8 hours tomorrow to mess it all up again. Don’t ya hate that? The worst is the high chair. Once you finally get a chance to clean it, it’s time for the next meal!

As for reality shows this week, I’m a bit disappointed that George went before Jasmine but in the big scheme of things I’m just glad Latoya and Fantasia made it through. I am sick and tired of Trish from The Bachelor and am horrified that ABC would let Trish interrupt Jesse and Mandy Jesse’s date next week. I’m going for Jessica all the way. He seems the most comfortable with her. I’m just watched Survivor and am totally psyched that Rob got immunity and I really want him to win but he REALLY has made some enemies along the way. I really don’t see any way he can win. Jenna is headed out next and I really don’t think Rob can take Rupert or Amber to the final two and actually win. I’m watching the finale of Friends. I have to admit that I haven’t been a huge fan. Not that I didn’t like it, but it was never a priority to watch on Thursdays. But I couldn’t miss this one along with the other 85 million expected people to watch this.

I just need to express

May 4, 2004 by Amy

I just need to express a little bit of frustration here. My friend is getting married Labor Day weekend. The first “inconvenience” that I got news of is when they planned the wedding an hour and a half away. Ok, I can handle that. One night away might be a good thing. Then later she told me, “Oh, we’re not allowing children at the wedding.” OK, so I can have family watch Emma. They’ll like that. Oh, and I really want all the bridesmaids to stay together. So I can’t sleep with my own husband on our only night away in two years? Oh, and the note from the maid of honor last week: 4 weeks before the wedding we’re giving a bachelorette party and it’s in New Orleans–won’t it be fun?! OK, so now, I have to spend money on a plane ticket for a party only 4 weeks before the wedding. Oh, and let’s not forget I’ll be 7 months pregnant! And guess what news I get today…can you guys be at the wedding on Thursday instead of Friday so we can have a bridesmaids luncheon?? I’m saying no to New Orleans and I’ve already told her we can’t come until Friday because 1-Scott doesn’t have off work and 2-since we can’t bring Emma, I’m not leaving her one more night than I have to. It’s just all too much! I know I signed up for this and I know it happens once in a lifetime but you know, enough is enough. If I were single this would be GREAT! But I’m not. I’m married, I have a child to take care of and am pregnant with another. Oh! And did I mention I now have buy a maternity bridesmaid dress–one I will NEVER wear again. And to top all of this off, our other friend is having her wedding only 7 weeks later at a place 2 hours away when I’ll be 9 months pregnant.

Somebody couldn’t make it through lunch…that’s the first time she’s ever done that.

Things are still looking quite

May 2, 2004 by Amy

Things are still looking quite good for the transfer. He talked to another rung on the ladder and he said he would fully support the transfer. We went house shopping when we went home for the day yesterday. There is almost nothing in our price range in the exact town we want to be in except for one new neighborhood where we will have to wait to build one. We’re thinking to either stay in an apartment up there or stay with my parents. I of course haven’t asked to do that yet so we’ll see what happens. I guess we’re sort of waiting for it to be a sure thing before we make any decisions like that. The price of the house is a bit more than we wanted which really scares me but if worse came to worse, I shouldn’t have any problem getting a full time job if I required one.

I am in total and

April 28, 2004 by Amy

I am in total and utter shock right now. Scott just called and just finished talking to his fst. sgt. about getting a transfer back home. It was a long conversation but the end result is unless something major happens, we’re packing our bags and going home June 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I’ve been soaked up

April 27, 2004 by Amy

OK, I’ve been soaked up with family visits, work and more ebaying the past few days. Sunday my sister came down and went to the church fair with me. It was pretty nice, but geared more toward the older children. They had 6 or 7 of the HUGE blow up ride thingys. They did have some things for the little kids to do inside. Emma turned over a duck to see a number and they gave her a bag of candy. She fished for candy over a wall. They had all the riding toys out from the nursery in the “track”. They had a place for face painting, nail painting and tattoos. Yes, the Baptist church had a tattoo stand (temporary of course). Anyway, they had a pony ride too but the line was too long. But Emma really liked watching them. We had some pizza, snow cones and cotton candy too. It was just nice to have my sister along.

Scott has been busy with a trial at work. He’s going to see if he can get some comp time seeing he was gone 5 hours yesterday and will be gone probably another 5 hours today. So I’ve been busy with work and I have a few last ebay items to sell.

The past couple of nights I have had the worst time sleeping. I wake up several times a night and I have these dreams!! OMG! They’re not necessarily explicit dreams but they are explicitly lifelike. It is really weird. One of them had to do with a mission trip and coming back in a boat with really clear water and there were these weird bottlenosed looking sharks trying to come up in the boat and there were all these dead people bobbing in the water and I would have to point out to the driver where not to drive so he wouldn’t hit them. And the people in the boat didn’t care there were dead people and even got out to swim in it once. I don’t know WHAT that dream meant, but I don’t think I care to find out.

I still have not been very sick. Sometimes in the afternoon or early evening I get queasy and have a hard time finding something to eat, but otherwise I’m doing pretty good. Still pretty tired at times. But hey, I’m great compared to what I was with Emma. I’m almost 10 weeks now so I’m guessing I might get passed that sickness thing this time! Wahoo!
