Headed home. Still need to do that packing.

11:42 PM and I’m just now leaving work. Lots of little issues that are now all fixed and everything seems to be working.
Headed home. Still need to do that packing.
So our big system implementation that got postponed the Friday before last is going on as we speak. I have had 3 issues, 2 of them have been resolved. And now I’m waiting on a system administrator to call me before I can fix the last one. Hence, I’m bored at work once again. So, here’s the rambling….
Have I mentioned we’re going to Maryland in the morning?
I haven’t packed a single thing
I did wash all of our clothes this weekend though
Scott has to work so he isn’t going
We’ll be gone from Thursday to Sunday or Monday
My Mom and Dad originally going by themselves
It’s my mom’s high school reunion this weekend
But two weeks ago my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer
And yesterday had surgery
This surgery was successful
But she opted to not have a full masectomy even though now she has a higher chance of reocurrence and will probably need chemo/radiation
I’m not that happy about
So I’m going this weekend to make a visit to her and also to have a vacation because my company has Monday off anyway
Yesterday I cancelled band practice because I had the kids, I’m not at church tonight and the guitar player had a job interview
I’m missing a really great speaker tonight at youth
I hope everything is running fine without me…the band, the video, the video recording, the powerpoints.
I need to teach people how to do all that so I don’t have to
I met Melissa at Starbuck’s last night and we chatted for over 2 hours
I had a great time
We should do that more often
My implementation is having more issues…gotta go
Today went pretty much as predicted. Except for the fact I didn’t clean last night, I cleaned this morning. I really had to force myself to though. I SO want to hire someone to do it. With all the let’s-save-money talk lately I can’t bring myself to make the call.
The IL’s stopped by unexpectedly to get Scott to plug their tire that went flat. So they stayed through lunch with us.
After that I headed over to the craft fair. It was such a great day to get out and do something like that. The barn it was held in was the perfect setting for all the pretty handmade items. I was really impressed with how "professional" it all looked and thought they all did a great job setting it up. I even picked up some new earrings (currently am wearing now — love them, Jen!) and some tea from Jaynee and Jen’s mom. Jaynee’s blankets and pictures were adorable in person. Check them all out on etsy. I’ll let you link to there from their sites. I just wish they had gotten that article in our paper, I know their traffic would have been up some more.
After that, we headed home. Lexi fell asleep before we got there so we let her sleep until it was time to go to the Progressive Dinner while we moved more pictures around the house. Loving the changes we made too. The living room and dining room look so much more "together".
The Progressive Dinner went really well. Well, except the part where two of the girls CAUGHT THEIR CLOTHES ON FIRE. Yep. They apparently sat them down on the bathroom counter to change from being in the pool and sat them on a burning candle unknowingly. They were at least smart enough to throw it all in the sink and turn the water on. I think a Progressive Dinner would be extra fun with all adults and will keep that in mind for something in the future.
For now, Scott is preparing the Sunday School lesson, Lexi is rolling around the living room floor, refusing to go to sleep and I’m printing stuff for Scott and well, blogging.
This is shaping up to be a somewhat busy weekend. Today I have a meeting I have to go into work for. So I’m spending half a day up there. Me going to work always throws our household into chaos for some reason.
This evening I don’t think MIL is getting the girls since FIL just had surgery this week. Not sure on that one though. If that’s the case, I probably will not get the house thoroughly cleaned..again.
Tomorrow afternoon I’m planning to go to Jaynee’s craft show at some point. I’m hoping to meet her mother and sister. Tomorrow evening we are holding Progressive Dinner for the youth group. So that will take the entire evening.
Maybe since tomorrow is so busy, I’ll try to clean after bedtime tonight.
And then of course Sunday is the usual church/rest/choir/church.
From yesterday’s list…here’s where I am…
Can I just say I have a ton of things going through my head that I need to be doing right now…
That’s a LONG list.
I woke up last night to snot running down my face. Nice. I’ve apparently picked up my first cold of the season. I went to church this morning but didn’t make it this evening. I slept on and off this afternoon. Mom and Dad’s air went out so we’ve been over here at their house and Scott has been trying to fix it. I’ve just been lounging around and the girls are watching Shrek in between playing. I’m hoping I’ll wake up in the morning and somehow be all better otherwise tomorrow is not going to be fun.
Well, the weekend really hasn’t gone much at all like I planned….
Yesterday the big project got postponed so I left work at 4:30. The four of us went to eat at Longhorn (hmmm..melt in your mouth Flo’s Filet), stopped by my sister’s house and then took the girls to MIL’s. Lexi did NOT want to stay the night there so she came home with us. I was SO tired I layed down on our bed and fell asleep. Scott was nice enough to stay up with Lexi who had napped through Longhorn and wasn’t tired.
This morning I had planned to clean which I started doing but then Heather called me and said that a local furniture shop was having a sale and thought there were a few things that would work in my house. So I pulled my hair up, put on some decent clothes and headed out for that which led us to the Ottoman Debate until about 2 today. We ended up going to 3 other furniture stores, eating out with the girls and in-laws and finally deciding to keep the purchased ottoman.
I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and finally getting a shower and here I am now. Emma is still with the in-laws, Heather is over here napping and we need to be headed over to my mom’s to eat dinner before C and I head to the band exhibition this evening.
Guess I better round up the troops…
