what i did today

I’m cooking spaghetti right now. I preheated the oven to 425 and opened it to put the garlic bread in and found this.

It’s cupcakes left over from the other day. Now twice-baked. Scott isn’t here but I know they were in the oven because he couldn’t stand looking at the pan sitting on the counter. Also because I found the pumpkin pie in the microwave. What’s really funny is the whole time I’m browning the meat I keep thinking how sweet it smells!

If you don’t follow me on Twitter, you really should.  Most of my efforts toward blogging are being sent in 140 characters or less throughout the day.  There are even pictures sometimes!

• I was so tired today I fell asleep in the car line which NEVER happens.  In fact, I have a really hard time falling asleep ANYWHERE besides a bed or couch.  Which really means I should go to bed right now instead of typing this.
• Scott and I spent the entire evening last night at his work Christmas party.  Boy was that fun! Nah, it was good seeing everyone and really, the food was GUD.

• This evening has been busy.  We ate dinner here and then did some Christmas shopping, I finished some changes to Mom’s site, I addressed most of our Christmas cards and watched some really funny YouTube videos.

So see.  I’m BUSY.  Which is why my eyes won’t stay open right now and I’M GOING TO BED.

• Friday night the girls ended up staying with MIL last minute.  She came to see Lexi’s hair and ended up taking them.  Jake and Jill showed up right after that for coffee and we ended up going to Mom & Dad’s theater room to watch The Hulk with Edward Norton.  The movie was great and I still love Edward Norton.
• Saturday we slept in, took the kids to choir practice, cleaned, ran some errands, took the kids to a play date and then spent Saturday evening over at Jaynee‘s house for their White Elephant Exchange.  They snapped one picture of us there.  We had a good time talking to a few people we’ve seen the past two years and also meeting some new people.  And of course, the food was delish.  Oh, and we came home with a fondue set and some handmade potholders.  Two of the better gifts there!

• Today we had a Sunday School Christmas dinner after church.  I took the turkey I cooked last weekend.  Unfortunately it was pretty dry.  The broccoli casserole and pumpkin pie were good though.
• I won an iTunes gift card.  Yippee!
• We’ve got drama going on at Scott’s work and our church.  Please say a prayer for us!
• Lexi’s hair is slowly growing on me.  It’s been REALLY nice for it not to be so tangled and so nice to brush through after baths.

I’m so happy! Look who I’ve been reunited with!

Lexi found it!  I had searched high and low for that little thing.  I figured Lexi had taken off with it somewhere but when I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE, I assumed someone had stolen it out of my van.  But guess where it was?

Of course!  Lexi had taken it outside on some sunny day and left it in our glider.  In the rain!

Let me be a lesson to all….electronics CAN survive getting wet.

Awww…flip, I missed you!

Honestly, I’m tired of talking about this iPhone but this is too good not to share.  This morning I listed my water-logged phone on eBay.  I was shocked to see they went for at least $250.  Really??  I listed it at $50 and had at least 5 offers, most $100-$150.  I decided to let it ride.  Then I decided to plug it up just to see and OMG, it turned on.  And then within a few minutes it had charged up and all my stuff is there.

I called the store and I can take the new one back, having to pay a 10% restocking fee but that is TOTALLY worth it.  Thank you, Lord!  Oh my goodness, I’m so excited!!

–update.  I’m thinking to sell the new one on eBay.  I think I can actually make money off of it and if that one goes bad, I’ll have some money towards buying the new one (again).

• One last update on the iPhone.  AT&T somehow removed my data and text plan from my phone and I couldn’t do much on the phone until Saturday so basically I was without my phone for 48 hours.
• Went to a craft fair Saturday morning and got a cute necklace.  I also ran into one of my 8th grade teachers and she stilled recognized my by name 17 years later although I did not her.  She was selling prints of pictures she had taken around her town.  I wonder if she teaches anymore.
• I cooked a turkey for the first time Saturday night.  You know, that one I won?  It showed up on my door step on Wednesday.  It was too late to fix for Thursday so I was so excited to provide a turkey for our Sunday School dinner except after spending three days thawing the turkey out and asking multiple people how to cook the thing, the EXACT minute I was putting it into the oven, I found out our Christmas dinner is not until NEXT week.  Yeah, I laughed too.  In good news, it turned out really well and I ended up freezing the meat for next week.
• Heather, Mom and I laughed about as hard as I’ve laughed in recent years WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON THE INTERSTATE.  We were laughing at my two or three of my most embarrassing stories that I have yet to share on here.  Maybe one day I’ll admit to peeing on my Mom’s front porch fully clothed.
• Saturday Melissa and I met up again to work on our books.  She has technically finished hers and I was able to start reading it from the start but she read only a scene or two from mine.  But she cried at one my scenes!  Yay!  That has to mean I’m doing something right!
• Today I didn’t do a thing but church, choir and a nap.  I didn’t even make it to CVS.
• I just ate a King Size KitKat by myself.  Good thing I’m cleansing tomorrow.

This is going to be an extended Twitter version of the iPhone drama that continued today.

I tried on and half for at least a half hour to get my sim card back in my phone.  It would go most of the way and then get stuck for no apparent reason.  A piece of rice got stuck in the phone, hence this tweet this morning.

can’t get my sim card back into my iPhone to see if it turns on. is this a sign?

Scott plugged the phone up and in got stuck in a restarting cycle flashing a dead battery screen each time and then completely died, hence this tweet this morning.

ok, i’m officially calling time of iPhone death at 11:54am. headed to the AT&T store.

So I went and spent WAY too much money on another iPhone hence this tweet.

i’m sick SICK over spending so much money on another iPhone. but i’m happy to have it back and it’s in pristine condition. syncing now.

The phone is STILL syncing hours later.  But there’s potential. Hope.  That in a few hours we’ll be back to normal.
