Pool Pictures

June 8, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

Because basically we’ve stayed in the pool this weekend…

Emma’s first day without swimmies on in the pool! She’s tall enough to reach the bottom now.

Graduation Day

June 8, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today (Yesterday since I’m late on this) was all about these people

The end

Really I could tell you about how I drank too much caffeine and had to go to bed because my stomach hurt about 8 and therefore did not post this last night but that would take too much time and I’m supposed to be playing Wii with Emma right now…later.

Weekend plans

June 6, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

Tonight I think we’re going to hang around the house and try to continue to get the house ready for the party tomorrow. Scott has done all he can on the pool and it’s just a waiting game right now. I need to actually clean the house. I did some straightening up last night but I still need to actually dust, vacuum and such. We’re also planning to finish painting the deck but it has to wait until this evening because it’s around 95 degrees around here right now.
Tomorrow we’ll be heading to my nephew’s high school graduation and then at 4, we’re having his party here.
Sunday will be status quo except I hope we can get plenty of swimming in in the afternoon!

Pool update

June 5, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Just for the record, when Scott went back to the pool store today, they told him our pool has white mold. I have never heard of this and neither have my parents. “We” have to completely take the filter thingy apart and clean it with bleach then dump $100 worth of chemicals into it over the next two days. They say that will have everything cleared up in time for the graduation party here Saturday night. Here’s to hoping.

Why Wii

June 5, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

OK, I’ve been debating on posting these but after seeing the spoof, I have to…reason why every guy should buy their girlfriend (or wife!) a Wii.

Let the summer begin

June 5, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Well, our pool I think is officially open.  We’ve been working on it since Scott got back from Turkey a few weeks ago.  It’s still cloudy but I think the chemicals are balanced enough.  Scott got in it today to try to get a few handful of leaves still in it.  The kids went ahead and got in it as well.  Scott’s on his way back to the pool store to get the chemicals checked for a third time.  We are really trying to get it ready for our nephew’s graduation party here this weekend.

It officially feels like summer though.  The kids are in and out of the sprinkler and the pool, taking breaks to eat chips and watermelon on the porch….and dripping water all over my new hardwoods and letting flies in.  Yep, let the summer begin.

Our Wii

June 4, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Let me say, Wii’s really do make you work out.  My side and right arm are REALLY sore from playing tennis three nights in a row.  I wish I had some video of Scott and I playing in the living room with the furniture pushed aside.  We were grunting and everything just like we were really playing.  We bowled some last night and it was funny watching Scott get irritated when it wasn’t working like he thought.  Emma seems partial to golf and is actually much better at it than I am.  I’m really hoping some Wii fits become available in our area.  Based on what I’ve seen in Wii Sports, I’m guess the work out is pretty solid.

Our funny neighbor

June 3, 2008 by Amy 2 Comments

I think I might have written about our elderly neighbor before.  He’s not in good health and is probably in his late 80s.  He still gets around outside though most days and we always like to chat with him. He’s a Christian man that actually goes to our church.  He says the funniest things, though, usually cracking on his wife or even on Scott.

Scott said today he had a conversation with him about a fatality on a motorcycle Scott worked on Tuesday.  Mr. F says “Those motorcycle are dangerous.  I’d rather ride a woman than a motorcycle…and they’re mean!”
