What I Wore Wednesday 3.26.2014

March 26, 2014 by Amy 9 Comments

After a six-week hiatus, I’m back!  Winter was wearing on me and I just could not take another minute of my winter wardrobe!  I was totally uninspired.  It’s been so nice to have some 60 and 70 degree weather around here lately so I can toss in some spring colors.

While we’re back to colder temperatures this week, I did capture one springy outfit this weekend.

I wore this outfit on Sunday.  My friend Dani and I had a wonderful girls day a few weekends ago and she picked out this scarf at Versona.

What I Wore Wednesday 02.05.2014

February 5, 2014 by Amy 3 Comments

If you’re new, I share what I wore through the week on Wednesdays and pair my outfit photos with matching inspirational photos.  I believe God created a colorful, creative world for us to enjoy and reflect.  I’m inspired by color and pattern and it comes out (sometimes) in my clothes.  It’s just a small reminder to me, and hopefully you, of God’s creative character.  You can read more about it here.

Y’all, I was so sick this week, I was lucky to get a shower every day.  I was often in yoga pants and or a sweatshirt.  My eyes were watery and my nose was red.  We had a beautiful day on Sunday, though, and I was feeling mostly back to normal so I did grab one picture.

I wore this yesterday to work at home while we waited the snow storm.  Seeing this photo below, I wish I would have had a touch of red—perhaps my red Miche bag.

What I Wore Wednesday 1.22.2014

Welcome back to WIWW.  We skipped last week so I could share about my guest post over at Giving Up on Perfect last week.  I did a poor job of taking pictures in the meantime, but do have a few to share.

If you’re just catching up, I pair my outfit photos with matching inspirational photos.  Read more about that here.

I wore this two weekends ago.  I can’t tell you how much I love my puffy vest.  It keeps me so warm!

This was the day of my accident and truth be told, what I wore the day before too.  The morning of the accident, I decided last-minute to throw on the previous day’s clothes instead of wearing my pajama pants.  Glad I did after having to jump out in the middle of traffic.  I was too busy the rest of the day to properly get ready so I just sprayed in some dry shampoo, fixed my makeup and kept going!

I wore this to EdVenture on Saturday.  What I love about that shirt is it wears like a sweatshirt but the front patterned material is thin and doesn’t feel as frumpy as a sweatshirt can feel.

What I Wore Wednesday 01.08.2014

January 8, 2014 by Amy 18 Comments

Wow!  Welcome to WIWW for 2014!  I’m back after a little holiday break.  Even though I wasn’t posting, I still tried to maintain taking pictures so I wouldn’t get out of the habit.  I won’t inundate you with all of them!

Like the rest of the country we are FREEZING here in the Carolinas. We had no hot water yesterday in our master bath.  I went to let Tucker out last night just before bed and when the wind hit him, he turned right around and was like, “Nevermind!”

It’s hard to dress warm enough and enjoy your clothes too.  Every single winter I think I need to invest in extremely cute jackets since that’s all anyone sees me in anyway.  Amiright?

In today’s post, I tried something new with adding in the Miche handbags I talked about in What I’m Into for December.  Maybe it’s the Southern girl in me, but I just love changing them out and letting it add another dimension to the color!

Even though I was the photographer of the weekend, I managed to get zero outfit photos. I took this one yesterday when I was working from home during the day and carted the kids around to get supplies for holiday parties and a quick doctor’s appointment in the evening (all is well).

I bought this huge scarf last year and didn’t really know how to wear it.  None of the handy scarf tying guides worked.  On a whim, I wrapped it like a shawl today and it was just the thing I needed to stay a little warmer around the house and the ruffles finally decided to lay just right. Something about it made me want to wear a hand muff—anything to stay warmer!

What I Wore Wednesday 12.11.2013

Happy Hump Day, friends!  Can you believe we’re only 2 weeks away from Christmas?  Eek!

I wore this for the Sole Hope party on Friday night.  Lexi thinks I look like a picnic table.  I feel a little like my dad in his collared shirts and sweaters.  But still, I love this outfit and loved that it was 75 degrees and I could pull off capris and flats.

IMG_1016

I wore this to church on Sunday.  I woke up EXHAUSTED after the Sole Hope parties Thursday and Friday and then staying up so late to finish Gone with the Wind.  I resorted to my usual jeans, boots, sweater winter uniform and threw on the scarf and earrings so I looked a little put together.  I thought of this exact little bird on my Pinterest board when I picked the black and white scarf. The picture is not a perfect color match, but this truly inspired this outfit.

I wore this as a work from home day.  I ran out to get Emma some dress shoes and got her to dance but other than that, was at home.

Can I tell you a sad story about these pants that I was oh-so-excited to get at Allume?  One of my vitamins exploded in the pocket and the jeans STINK of fish oil.  It’s disgusting and I usually only wear these at home now so I don’t stink up a joint.  I’ve tried lemon juice and washed them several times.  The smell is slowly going away, but I just can’t make myself get rid of them.  I even cut out the bottom of the pocket where the pill was 🙁

What I Wore Wednesday 12.04.2013

I bought this dress at a consignment sale a few weeks ago and I was so happy to find that I already had a cardigan and shoes to match.  Looking at the pictures now, the black leggings aren’t my favorite thing ever with them.  In any case, I wore this twice this week—once to Thanksgiving dinners and then to church.  On Thanksgiving, I matched my first-ever-homemade cranberry dressing perfectly.

We are now in total full swing of Christmas.  My cards have been sent, presents are getting wrapped, and we decorated gingerbread houses last night.  How about you?
