Well, I didn’t realize it until putting this together but I must have been in a mood for black?

After watching hours of Scandal and Olivia Pope’s amazing suits in her wardrobe, I decided to add a blazer to my dress for church this week.

I saw someone where a top with their maxi dress in last week’s WIWW so I decided to try it out this week with my striped maxi.  LOVE wearing it like this.  It doesn’t slide up and down like a skirt would or leave indentions at my waist line.  Love that this is a little warmer than wearing it just sleeveless.

I wore this to work yesterday.

First I must take a moment to remember those that lost their lives on 9/11.  Still such vivid, sad memories from that day and the weeks that followed.  My prayers go out to the family and friends that still live with the scars.

On to what I wore…

It’s still so crazy hot here in the Carolinas.  In fact, I think it’s been hotter and drier in the last two weeks than the whole summer.  Even though I LOVE the warm weather, I’m so ready for a break from summer clothes.  I don’t feel very motivated to take pictures when you guys (and I) have seen the same outfit so many times!

This was a work from home day.  We also had our small group over that evening. Comfy and cool.

I did manage a bit of fall clothes yesterday at an offsite meeting for work. I was so excited to find these Ann Taylor jeans brand new with tags at a second-hand store—score!

Once again, I didn’t get too many new pictures.  I think I’m just over all my summer clothes. But it’s hot and humid as ever here in the Carolinas so I’ll be forced to wear them at least 3 more weeks I’d guess. The good news is that gives me a few extra weeks to fit back into my jeans.  Anyone else gain a few summer pounds?

This is a previous picture, but I wore this outfit sans jewelry lounging around Labor Day.

I wore this Saturday.  I didn’t do a whole lot of anything but go to the grocery store but I was so tired of wearing shorts!

This was Tuesday’s work at home day.  I ran out to get toilet paper at lunch.  What a life!

First, I must show a first day picture of the girls!  They started 3rd and 5th grades today!  They had a great morning and I’m so stinkin’ proud of them!

If you read my post Friday, you’ll see last week was a tough one.  I didn’t have time to take too many pictures and one day, I just never got around to taking a shower.  Just one of those days I’m thankful I work from home most days. 

Most weeks, I highlight my every day casual style but I thought I’d show you the highs and lows of this week too.  From lounge wear with a top knot, a dress for night out to dinner with friends and another style I rarely photograph—a business casual work outfit.

Clearly I wasn’t inspired by any colors in this outfit, but not everything in nature is colorful and happy either. This storm picture seemed appropriate, somewhat in color but mostly in subject.
