So our paper just called to do the interview on my One Tree Hill site. Can I be honest? I felt like the biggest dork EVER. I kept rambling on about the show and knew way too many facts about what he was asking. He asked me to describe the show and I said it’s basically a teenage drama about a group of friends and following them through life. He says, like 90210 basically? Yes, I said. He asked if there were any other shows I was just as passionate about? And then I realized OMG I’m passionate about One Tree Hill. A teenage drama. I felt about this big (imagine my fingers squished together). But then we got to the part about the money and I could proudly say I’ve made almost $550 just in the past two weeks and then thought, hey, who cares? I MADE $550 in TWO WEEKS off a fan site on a TEENAGE DRAMA.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
I’m not a big holiday person really. Emma has mentioned on more than one occasion we need more decorations for whatever holiday it was. I have exactly zero St. Patrick’s Day or Easter decorations out as we speak. You know, I have some Easter towels I need to get out now that I think of it. Anyway, for some reason I made sure we all wore green today. I even went to Wal-Mart at 9 last night to buy the girls new green t-shirts to wear today to school. I guess the thought of getting pinched was just too much.
I was listening to the radio this morning and she had a little St. Patrick’s Day story that I thought was cute. Her husband homeschools their children (I have never, ever heard of a husband doing that…anyone?) and he gave their daughter the sentence “I saw a rainbow in the sky” and she had to finish the story. This is what she wrote:
I saw a rainbow in the sky. I followed the rainbow to the end and there was a pot of gold and a leprechaun. I pushed the leprechaun and grabbed the pot of gold and ran away.
They always did say homeschooled children are pretty smart.
Snippets of Conversations from Today
Scott and I went to visit our elderly neighbor in the hospital today. We asked her what they found out about him and she says:
“We think it was the medicine they gave him. It made him very erotic. Thank goodness that’s over.”

Emma: I need to think of one. Daddy, haven’t you thunk-a-one yet?

Emma walking down the aisle at Lowe’s: A good camper should be a good host.

Emma: Mommy, will you [insert something she asked me to do while I was doing something else]
Me: Emma, I will. I can only do so much.
Emma: Nuh-uh. You can only do one thing at a time. You only have two hands.
Dining/Living Room Paint: Before and After
This weekend we completed the painting of the dining room, living room and hallway. We didn’t repaint the sunroom. We decided to repaint that green because it’s a brighter color and I really like the green and that’s where I spend most of my day. I do like the taupe/sand color in the living room though. It makes it feel warmer. Here are the before and after pictures. Now just imagine all the rooms you see with walnut colored hardwoods…oh, I can’t wait!
(Moved around some wall hangings. Still want a clock above the tv.)
(got a new picture above the recliner)
(moved the rug into the dining room. planning to get another lighter, plainer one for the living room.)
More after:
(just bought that metal tree on the table)

Taking a moment
Well, we are day 2 into the weekend and the girls visit to the beach. So what have we done on this kid-free weekend? Last night we went with C&D out to eat and then spent the rest of the evening until about midnight painting the living room and hallway. We got 90% done and just had to finish one wall and do touch-ups.
This morning I had choir practice and I came home to finish painting. We also cleaned house and even the van. It’s amazing..it’s a few hours later and it’s STILL clean.
I think right now we’re going to repaint the sun room the green it already was. It used to be the playroom so there’s crayon and everything else on the wall.
Tonight we have a dinner planned with Scott’s shift from work so I’m guessing that will take the bulk of our evening.
Living room pictures soon to come! Waiting on the paint to dry to hang everything back up.
Kitchen Paint: Before And After
OK, here’s step one of the kitchen makeover. Walnut colored hardwoods and a some sort of new countertop are coming (and hopefully maybe sometime in the future cross your fingers a new stove). Sorry the pictures aren’t the same, I took the before ones and Scott took the after ones. If you can’t tell, the after color is a sand type color. It seems to really change it’s look depending on the lighting though.
I got everything done today…I mean yesterday
Ok, so it’s after midnight but everything I meant to get done this evening I did. Got the girls packed, went with them to the High School Musical play (cute but it went too late for Lexi), finished painting the kitchen (pictures soon to come) and started painting the living room.
That’s the good news. The bad news is now I’m behind on my reading (The Bible in 90 Days) and I already was behind. There are two grace days built in so you really could read it in 88 days but I’m guessing that might not happen.
The girls leave in the morning at 10 and I have to work but I’m hoping Scott will feel inspired to finish up the living room even though he detests painting. Really I’m hoping the floors come in and then I’ll be happy to paint while he starts the floor!
Another busy one
So busy, I’m blogging haha. Seriously, It’s already 30 min past when I log off and I still have a ton to do.
The girls leave for the beach in the morning and I’m still washing clothes and haven’t even gotten a suitcase down for them yet.
I’m thinking of taking the girls to see High School Musical tonight since they are going to the beach tomorrow morning and we’ll miss our regularly scheduled show tomorrow night.
AND I want to finish painting the kitchen and get started on the living room, hoping against hope that our floors arrive tomorrow or Saturday.
Oh AND Lost comes on tonight.
