I’ll be at the office again tomorrow which means no access to this site.  Then tomorrow evening is church so tomorrow may be a quiet day.

No early baby after the stress test

December 4, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Just a quick answer to prayer to my quick prayer request.  The stress test went fine today and she has another appointment on Friday to see if she’ll go then or on Sunday.  Thanks for the prayers!

Jennifer Love Hewitt Bikini Pictures

December 4, 2007 by Amy 3 Comments

I saw this article on people where Jennifer Love Hewitt responds to some unflattering photos have been circulating the web with her in a bikini by saying "Size 2 is not fat".  And of course I had to check out her blog post and then check the pictures out themselves.

Just a few thoughts..I think the only unflattering one was the one of her backside and her boobs are only unflattering because she needs a different type of top.  And honestly, can we say thank goodness we’re not the only ones with cellulite??

Besides that, I think she’s still gorgeous even though she doesn’t look nearly as skinny as I thought she was.  I got to thinking about that Hanes commercial she is in and thought she looked much skinnier there.  I happened to see the commercial last night and I don’t think it showed her bottom half at all.

And that got me to thinking…I think we are really duped by the media about how celebrities look in real life.  I know people always say it but I don’t think we quite believe it.  I know, I know, I AM a size 2 and what do I have to complain about but seriously I feel a lot of pressure too to lose weight and look thinner even at my size because my tummy isn’t quite as flat as, oh, pick one, Eva Longoria.  I always remember someone asked Tyra Banks what she had learned after years of modeling and she said something like, "Quit caring so much about your tummy.  No one cares about it nearly as much as you do." I would agree with Jennifer and say, slap on your swimsuit and get out there and be proud!

Yes, I’m going to continue to work out but I need to keep reminding myself that my health is of the utmost importance and if the outward physical appearance happens to change, well then, that’s just a bonus.

Quick Prayer Request

December 4, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Scott’s cousin C has a scheduled c-section on Sunday but today she went in for another ultrasound (she’s had several) and her fluid has continued to go down and now the doctor is having her do a stress test.  They may take the baby today or maybe Friday depending on the results.

You may remember C is the one that had a baby last year at 30 weeks because of preclampsia so she’s a little nervous.  She’s 35 or so weeks now so she’s good as far as that goes but just pray the doctors have the wisdom to know when to take the baby and that C&D can arrange for an early arrival.

The proof is in the numbers

This is what we like to see…

Not that 323 calories burned even accounts for the ice cream sundae I devoured this evening but it’s progress.  And hey, it’s good for my heart!

It did feel really good to have worked out again.  Seeing that it’s almost midnight and I’m still blogging, I don’t think it’s helping much with my sleep yet but Heather says I should give it more than a day…

The Hills December 3, 2007

Blogging as I watch…

I wasn’t a fan of the opening with Brody ogling other girls. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling about Lauren and Brody. I did appreciate Whitney’s observation of Lauren and Brody’s chemistry. Poor Lauren. Left alone again at the party. Audrina’s new replacement Corey is awesome! Yikes, he’s hawt. Like superhot with an accent hawt.

Wow, Stephanie spilled the beans. In some ways I can see how that was necessary but Heidi specifically asked her not to say anything.

Lauren brings up a good point at dinner with Lo with her wanting Brody not to want other girls and only want her. But, oh my goodness, she’s in for a shock. Number one, guys never quit looking. The way Brody was looking at that girl in the restaurant? Yeah, that won’t go away. And as long as he’s single, I’m thinking he’s going for any girl he wants. Number two, if you ever want a guy to do almost anything, you have to tell them. And maybe multiple times. If she wants Brody, she’s going to have to be forthcoming with her feelings. I agree with Lo. And hey, if he’s not ready to settle down with Lauren, then he should be forthcoming with her as well.

Best line in awhile, "He returns calls…Justin didn’t. He likes to kiss…Justin didn’t. He baths…Justin didn’t. Upgrade!"

Heidi and Spencer. Whew. It’s getting bad. Spencer approached that all the wrong way.

LOL, Brody has a name book in his contact list. That is hilarious. Aw, see…Brody wants to know she likes him. That was her clue..she should have said something. And now the dern show ends with a not so warm and fuzzy from them.

Previews:

Yes! End of Heidi and Spencer. Aw, Brody’s feelings are hurt. And Whitney…gets it again at work and poor Lauren.

Socially conscious

December 3, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Two updates to the site tonight. On the left sidebar, I have links to all the places I’m on the web…myspace, flickr, twitter, facebook, technorati, stumbleupon. Add me if you use any of these and let me know so I can add you as well.

Also in that vein, I added a bookmarking plugin which adds a little bookmarking tool at the end of each post. I don’t write bookmark-worthy posts a lot but if you happen to catch one, I’d love for you to add it to technorati or stumbleupon.

What other social sites do you use that I should join?

The monstrosity

December 3, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

imageWow, I didn’t realize when we were talking about buying an elliptical machine how big the thing would be.  It looked much smaller in the big sports store.  I’m not sure if you can grasp how big it is in the picture but those arm thingies are taller than Scott and he’s 5’11".  It does actually fit nicely in the corner of my sunroom/office and you can barely see it from the front door–which I was worried about.  The only downside is I’m facing the wall.  It has wheels on it so it’s possible to move it but I’m guessing it won’t happen too often.  As of now, I’m planning to crank my iTunes from my computer for a good 30 minutes every day and get back in the habit of exercise.  I really miss the feeling of working out and haven’t been sleeping as well since I quit back in October.  Since I wasn’t overly impressed with the 24 hour gym I visited, I was going to rejoin the YMCA in January but I guess this is my little gym for now.  Throw in some push-ups and sit-ups and I should be back on track.
