Etsy wannabe

December 3, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Do you know how bad badly much I want to be a seller on etsy??  I was just reading some of the success stories and I’m so pumped to sell something.  But I’m totally unqualified!  I can barely sew on a button.  Any attempt at painting I’ve made can be cute but looks amateurish.  I don’t know how to make costume jewelry or baskets or purses or soap or lipstick or cute little children’s toys or much of anything really.  I can not think of a single thing I could create to sell.

Hmph.

CVS Deal December 2, 2007

December 3, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today was a pretty good day.  I even visited the local CVS that usually gives me trouble and they guy actually helped me.  Scott needed Alka Seltzer.  We were in Target earlier in the day debating on whether to spend $4.99 on it and I told him to wait and let me get it at CVS.  So instead of spending $4.99 oop there, this is what I got worth about $27:

  1. Gillette Fusion Power Razor
  2. 3 packs of CVS brand cough drops
  3. CVS Brand Alka Seltzer
  4. CVS Brand Sudafed
  5. 2 Pack of Energy Shots

Used:

  1. $4 coupon on the razor
  2. $2/10 CVS brand cough/cold
  3. 2 $3/15 coupons – this is the one the cashier suggested I double-up on..thanks!
  4. $2/10 total purchase
  5. Used $11.98 in ECBs

Spent .44 oop

Earned $13.96 ECBs

How about that?

Blake Lewis and Maroon 5 news

December 3, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Two of my favorite artists (well, Blake Lewis was an American Idol favorite..favorite artist title yet to be earned) are in the news.

Blake Lewis has a new website and his album Audio Day Dream comes out tomorrow.

Also, Maroon 5’s new video for Won’t Go Home Without You is out.  I find their videos a little weird but I love this song.

Me, me, me – the result

December 2, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

First off, thank you to those that gave your opinion of my little poll.  Hop onto my page to see the results…

Doesn’t look familiar right?   I apologize I didn’t pick one that was voted on but it was not all for naught.  I ended up picking one similar to #2.  Both Scott and Heather really liked #1 but I didn’t like the way I was facing so I felt like the one I picked was sort of a compromise between the two.  And hey, it takes about 30 seconds to change the picture so if I change my mind, I can.

What a day

December 2, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I’m not sure I even have the energy to talk about everything I did today.  It went something like…

  1. church
  2. lunch at MIL’s
  3. stopped at Scott’s uncle’s
  4. changed clothes at home
  5. went to Target
  6. went to CVS
  7. went to choir
  8. took the kids to Mom’s
  9. went to Dick’s and bought an elliptical (yay!)
  10. crashed at home

Good Points:

We got an elliptical on a great deal.  Which means I can finally put to rest the whole conversation about the gym or buying an elliptical.  Now I just have to use it.

Sunday School was good today (due to absentees).

CVS went well (more on that later).

Holiday Party #1 – Check

December 2, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

image We had the first Christmas party tonight.  It was for my church’s choir at our FLC/gym.  It was low-key but actually a lot of fun.  Our pastor’s daughter came up with a bunch of games for us to do and while I grimaced at the thought of party games, it ended up being great fun.  We had quizzes on Christmas music, played Bingo, split in teams and dressed up a person as Santa with minimal office products, rolled grapefruit across the floor by hitting it with another grapefruit in pantyhose tied around our waists (yeah, that was as funny as it sounds) and 12 people volunteered to act out the 12 days of Christmas which had us all rolling.  It was a great night and definitely a great start to all these parties.  And since they’re all incognito, I thought I’d post a picture of all of our Santas.

My scripture this week is Proverbs 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

Oh how many times I need to remind myself to guard my heart!
