This made me snort. If you’ve read recently, doesn’t look like I’m going to get that raise I deserve thought I was getting and recently was handed a new flat screen monitor. Yeah, it’s scary how close Dilbert gets to real life.
Especially when you read this one. All of us programmers were shaking our heads.

So tonight is one of those nights. Scott is at work and I have new code running for the first time at work. And it didn’t go well. And the kids are cranky and hungry and really want my attention because I’ve sat at this computer all day today. So I’m having to run back and forth between this computer and the girls. It’s gone sort of like..

And here I sit. The girls are playing by themselves right now and I’m still waiting on someone to do something for me. Some people think it would be so easy to work from home. I have to disagree. Totally.
Last week I had a big CVS week, today was Walgreens. While I didn’t walk away with money, I did save almost 75%. I spent $35 out of pocket, saved $18.10 at the register, got a $10 coupon for next time and have to fill out $10.79 in rebates. All in all, I guess you could say I got $53 worth of stuff for $14. And I’m set for next time with $10 free.
The biggest deal I got was 3 big containers of Herbal Essence for $3. You can do it too if you just clip the coupon from the Sunday paper and then use it with their 3/$20 sale and Register Rewards sale in store.

The Herbal Essence is $6.99 not on sale so basically I bought two of them and got the rest for free.
I’ve had a fear of horses since I was somewhere around 7 I think. I won’t bore you with the details as I’ve detailed them here. Just wanted to say I rode a horse AGAIN this weekend at the Cornestone Ranch and I actually think I might be getting over my fear of horses.
And isn’t that hat just lovely?
The Holy Spirit speaks in a very quiet voice. Sometimes I hear him ask me to do seemingly important things and others seem small and insignificant. Today was one of those small things but it made my life easier.
I got both the kids dressed and ready for school and Scott was helping them get strapped in. I sat down in the car and all I could “hear” was “Go check the girls’ calendars!” I was thinking, oh, who cares if they were supposed to wear green today, I already have them dressed. But His voice was insistent so I said to Scott, “Hang on, let me check their calendars so I can see if I’m supposed to bring anything today.” I ran in and guess what the calendar said? “No school today. Teacher workday.”
That was a busy weekend.
Shopping with J – check. I managed not to buy a single thing somehow.
Craft show – not checked – I didn’t wake up until 10:30 Saturday and then had lunch with ILs and girls and then did some cursory cleaning.
Outing with youth – check. That was awesome. Mark Rodenhauser, former NFL player owns Cornerstone Ranch. He owns 9 horses which we all got to ride. His barns and sheds were decorated like an old main street. He had tomahawk throwing, roping, sawing, campfires…just about anything. He has a great sermon related to the relationship of a horse owner and horse being similar to the master/servant one we have with Christ.
Visited with J&J afterwards until after midnight – check.
Choir lunch – check.
Nap – check. Wasn’t expecting this one, but happily obliged.
Cici’s Pizza last night with the youth – check.
Major drama with the youth and leaders afterwards – check. I’m going to write more on this on a password protected post.
So now I feel like I need a weekend from my weekend.
No major plans for this week or weekend. The girls are out of school today. Scott will be gone Saturday to work the Clemson football game. I’m guessing this week we’ll just be taking it easy.
