Man, I’m staying busy, that’s for sure. With the bible study and sunday school gearing up and the web site taking off, I’ve stayed busy in my spare time. The kids really seem to like it and are participating a good bit. It’s good to see.

So Lexi did really, really good in school this week. She still cries when I go get her, but no tears when I drop her off. And she learned prayer hands! That’s what they call it at school and you should see her fold her little hands together, put her chin to her chest and look up at you. It’s SO cute! And supposedly they all have assigned seats at the snack table and know where to go–I know Lexi knows where her chair is for snacks! And they are even sitting them down for story time. Unbelievable.

Emma of course is having a blast. She says there’s another Emma in her class and they call her Emma and Emma, Emma Grace. I don’t really know how they figured out how to call her Emma Grace, but fine with me.

Scott hasn’t been doing anything much around the house lately. No additions, fences or decks going up. He’s been taking it easy for the past couple months. It’s been too hot to do anything anyway.

Really, I stay on my computer a lot. Usually doing something on the web site, getting a virus off my laptop or else trying to catch up on my Beth Moore videos. Which, by the way, are fantabulous. Definitely recommend ya’ll signing up for that at lifeway.com/lby.

That’s about it for now. Tomorrow is D’s birthday and I think we might go shopping. Yay!

I think Lexi said her first 3 word sentence last week. “That’s my book!” More like “tha ma buh”. It counts. And she’s started this full-on pouting. She pouts her lip and tucks her chin down to her chest.

We changed our bible study topic back to what one of the students recommended, Every Young Woman’s Battle. I will probably be ordering books this week. I went out and bought mine and read it over the weekend. It’s a short but information packed book about sexual purity for teenage girls. I think it’s sort of common sense stuff but it comes out and says things that a lot people refrain from talking about. At least in a group setting. And usually with a little grin or giggle even in private. Hopefully the girls will walk away with something that will help them through single life.

So last night at church we officially announced the web site and the upcoming bible study I’m helping to round up and lead. We decided to do Living Beyond Yourself by Beth Moore this time and next time do Every Young Woman’s Battle. I am SO excited to do this bible study. This time I’m doing it with the youth girls and a few adults. I know I’ve learned a lot from other Beth Moore studies so I hope the girls can get something out of this one. I joined the online bible study when I thought we weren’t going to do it so I’ve gotten a jump on the videos already. I won’t get it all done before we start but at least I’ll be able to see where we’re going with it.

Scott and I have talked about getting him a truck again. Both of us miss his old one. We really are going to try to get the van paid off so we only have one payment at a time. I think when we get our taxes this year, we are going to put a big chunk on it. I really would like to get hardwoods in the house but I really would like the van paid off too. Ugh, I hate having to keep up with money and logbook loans.

Saturday we are supposed to go to a youth leadership meeting for the morning and then go to lunch. That is if I can get someone to watch the girls. It starts at 8am so that’s the only thing. I may go and let Scott stay home with Lexi and let Emma stay with MIL Friday night. Who knows.

OH! Big news. I’m going to teach Sunday School this year. 9th grade, that is. There is some shuffling going on in the youth dept. The youth pastor is not teaching our class anymore. So I don’t have any reason to stay in there.

So Lexi didn’t cry as much today when I dropped her off. She started to cry but then saw the director who she for some reason has taken a liking to and quit crying when she started telling her she was going to have fun today. I prayed like crazy the whole time on the way to school that she wouldn’t cry so hard. It breaks my heart to see that she doesn’t want to go. As far as I’m concerned, that was a prayer answered that the director got her out and was able to keep the tears under control.

Lexi was crying when we picked her up from preschool yesterday. They said she didn’t cry the whole time but when the other kids cried at the end, she started up. Her card in her bag said “she had tears”. And she started crying a few more times after we left. Like when Scott put her in her car seat, she started up again. She fell asleep on the way home so obviously part of that was beause she was tired.

I guess we’ll hang in there and see how she likes it in a few weeks. No way am I going to pay $80/month to make my child miserable!

OK, youth web site I think is “official” with the exception of our music store. Which I should get set up soon. I’m not sold on the main page, but our youth pastor loves it. It’s too busy for me but isn’t the customer always right (no, i didn’t charge them, but i’d be a rich woman if i had!)?

Lexi’s dr appt

August 15, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

I forgot to mention (I think) Lexi’s dr appt last Wednesday morning. They said she was off the charts on her height and above average on her weight. He was still a little concerned about the way she was talking. How she starts words but usually doesn’t finish them and nothing is said with the complete clarity. So he gave us a referral to BabyNet which I still have not heard from.

MTVHits

August 15, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

The past couple of days I’ve been putting MTVHits on tv watching videos while I work late at night or during the girls’ naps.

Did you know JoJo that sang Too Little Too Late is a little white girl?? Her voice is so soulful!

What is UP with Justin Timberlake’s Sexy Back video?? I don’t get it!

It is really annoying that they play the same 11 videos over and over.
