Finishing up cleaning for today. Only thing left on normal cleaning schedule is the vacuuming. Lexi is asleep right now so I have to wait. I really need to do some organizing and “deep” cleaning but now I’m hesitant to get into anything since she will probably be up soon. So I’m writing this instead!

Last night we went to Moe’s to eat. Coincidentally it was Cinco de Mayo and we got a free t-shirt. We took the girls to the mall to let them play in their play area and get some energy out. Emma and Lexi were so cute together. If Emma couldn’t find Lexi, she would run over and say Where’s my sissy?! One time we caught Lexi looking for Emma and when she found her over by us, she ran over, gave Emma a hug and started patting her on her back. Lexi does love her big sister! And Emma is miss mother hen to her little sister. When we got home we re-arranged our living room. It may be temporary because I think I like it the other way better but we both have been dying to do it for months. At least it’s a little change. I’m really in the mood to start moving things around. Even the decorations or something. I’m home so much that I need a change of scenery every once in awhile.

Today is Fest-i-fun, our local spring festival. I took the girls early this morning and stayed for almost 2 hours. I was very proud of myself since I was the only one with them. We had fun riding on the train together and another ride. We got Emma’s face painted a listened to some of the elementary school choruses sing. We left when Lexi got antsy and I was broke–those fair rides were expensive when we had all 3 of us riding on them! Emma ended up going back over there with MIL. She should be good and tired when she gets home. I really hope she gets a nap because she was really needing one yesterday. I’m actually glad she slept at home last night so we could make sure she got to sleep a little early.

In other very exciting news, my retainer broke this morning. It kept hurting when I put it in and lo and behold I was trying to stick a broken wire that was sticking out into my gums. Which is not good. Because the top one they are making me is $300 and now they are going to have to make me a bottom one. And really, I’m more upset that I was actually wearing the dern thing and now I won’t be able to get another for a few weeks I bet. Oh, and I think when and if I get my teeth back straight, I’m going to get the Zoom whitening done. A dr around here has a special for new patients for $450. If we sell our Jeep, we could swing that.

Whew, Elliott didn’t go home and I was right about Paris. I’m really happy with the final four but unsure of the Elvis theme next week. Could be really good or really cheesy. Something I would have expected out of top 9 or so but not top 4. I’m looking forward when the judges get to pick their song.

My teeth hurt. This retainer apparently is doing its job because it feels like all of my bottom front teeth have just been pulled. Ow.

Scott works all weekend and I’m not looking forward to it. Especially since this week Fest-i-fun around here and I know the girls will want to spend a lot of time there.

Tonight is the first night I completely enjoyed Elliott. That song Home I love and I thought he did a good job with it. Not everyone thinks so apparently, but I really liked it. And I’m not alone because he ended up in the #2 spot on dialidol stats tonight. My guess was and is Paris is goin’ home tomorrow night. I was a little disappointed with Chris tonight. I think his voice hurt him and took away from the song unfortunately. I need to rewatch the first part of the show because I missed it since I was a little late from dinner. Which by the way went very well. I think I sort of talked her head off. I realized halfway through the dinner I was talking. A lot. And I could have talked for like 4 more hours. No lie. I really need some girl talk! Put it this way, until the grocery store this afternoon and dinner tonight with her, I haven’t been anywhere outside of the house or van since Sunday morning for church and lunch. Yeah. That’s the bad part about working from home. You don’t get out much. Anyway, so dinner went really well. We talked I think 99% about our upcoming reunion. I think we’re both nervous and worried we will revert to our shy selves (is that a word?) and not really know how to act around everyone. I don’t know. I was fine at the reunion meeting the other night so I’m not quite as nervous.

I have a orthodontist appt in the morning. Yeah, haven’t said that for about, oh, 10 years. My teeth have really moved since getting my braces off in 1996. Which by the way did not come off before senior pictures which really did and does make me mad. Because guess why? They are going to make us wear nametags with our senior yearbook picture on them. So yeah, I knew there was a reason I HAD to have them off! At least they were the clear kind and not the metal kind! ANYWAY, I feel like I’m on speed or something like I just need to rattle. I NEED SOME GIRL TALK! So I’m taking my retainers tomorrow–yes I still have them and no they don’t fit anymore–and seeing if they can use them. I really would like to get a permanent retainer on the inside of my bottom teeth so I don’t have to worry about it. I just don’t really want to go through all that pain again. The last thing I want him to say is I need braces again. Won’t do that again! I hear they have gotten pretty good at that stuff though. I think people wear them for like 9 months now or something.

So my bible study is going really good. I was literally in tears the other night during my homework session it was hitting home so well. I really recommend it to any female. It is a great study and I think would be really good with a small group of women that really trusted one another. I really hope I will take something from it. (Beth Moore’s When Godly People Do Ungodly Things)

Project at work is back on track. Or at least half of it. At least I have something to do for now.

What else?

I think Lexi is addicted to tv. I determined this morning I wasn’t going to let her watch so much and she was literally banging on the tv screen for me to cut it on. Yesterday she brought me the remote in the bathroom WHILE I was USING the bathroom for me to turn the tv on. She was cranky today which is probably a result of all this. Hopefully I can resolve to cut out more tv.

Emma has been so sweet lately. She’s acting so grown up. Tonight I was laying in bed with her while I was putting her to sleep and she says in her cute little voice and lisp, Actually…actually, I have a question for you. I’m trying to think what she asked me but I can’t remember. She said two things. Something and if I could pray for angels. Almost every night since the first night we did that Emma has asked me to pray for angels. I ask for them to help her get to sleep, keep her warm, keep her in bed, keep her safe and help her not to be scared. Yes, I know some of those things are sort of random to be asking of angels specifically but basically those are the things I want from her and she has not much control over while she is asleep so I was hoping some angels could help a tired mommy out. But if I miss any of those things on the list, she reminds me. Tonight I said amen and she says you forgot to say help me to get to sleep. So I have to do a “prayer addendum” and ask for that. LOL.

Good luck to Chris tonight cause his song choice seems a little obscure if the list is correct.

Paris Bennett — “Kiss” by Prince (Tom Jones in 1988) and “Be Without You” by Mary J. Blige.

Katharine McPhee — “Against All Odds” by Phil Collins and “Black Horse and Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall

Taylor Hicks — “Play that Funky Music” by Wild Cherry and “Something” by the Beatles (George Harrison wrote this one)

Elliot Yamin — “On Broadway” by George Benson and “Home” by Micheal Buble

Chris Daughtry — “Renegade” by Styx and “I Dare You” by Shinedown

Thanks to mj’s big blog for that list. I was so hoping he’d do Right Here as it was rumored.

Tonight is a dinner date with a high school friend.

Kellie Pickler on Ellen. Not so good. I’m in general a Pickler fan but she acted like she was on speed or something. Most of the conversation was Kellie screaming Whoot! every few seconds. She said this is how you know you’ve arrived. Apparently Ellen is one of her favorite shows. And she said they are working on the album and going on tour. That’s really all she talked about. Nothing juicy at all. Lots of whoots! My sister called and the first thing she said was Bless her heart. I’m thinking the dumb blond trick actually comes naturally.

This weekend similar to how I predicted. Friday night just the 4 of us went out to eat. The girls were really good. Then we went to SIL’s house to see BIL. And Emma was spending the night with MIL so we dropped her off with them. Emma stayed with them until Saturday evening. Saturday I got my hair cut…more like styled differently. I didn’t really get much cut off the length. Then we went with C&D to a furniture store. THEN, Saturday night we had a cookout for BIL at our house. Scott and I loved having everyone over, especially with the new deck. It’s great! Sunday we went to church and I cleaned/did bills/did laundry. It was really quite a productive day.

Bad news on my project at work. Looks like it might get cut due to new technology coming out, for a lack of energy to explain the entire reason. Bummer because I will have absolutely nothing to do if this is over.

Bible study has been going really good. It really has hit me where I needed it most. I’m gaining a little insight into what happened and why and what to do about it. I just feel like it could not have come at a better time except maybe right before it! But who knows it, it may still have happened.

Tomorrow night I’m supposed to go out with my bf from school, M. I expect we’ll have a good time talking over dinner. I just wish our closeness we had once was still there. I just feel disconnected from her now, which is really sad.

*spoiler*
So GA was really good last night! On the storylines…I love Denny! I hear he is getting a new heart in the finale of the season on 5/15. Which it’s going to kill me (no pun intended) because I think our cliffhanger will be whether Denny dies and also I hear it will be whether Meredith picks Finn or Derek. And hey, hey, hey how about McVet. Isn’t he great? I think Chris O’Donnell is doing a fine job fitting in with the GA vibe and although I don’t see anything long-term for them, I sure will enjoy it while it lasts. And they birthed a horse together. How sweet was that? I think they wanted to get it on right after that though. Apparently they did at his place even though they said they wouldn’t (what was that about) and did you see Derek? He was not so happy about that! And I totally did not catch the fact that it was Meredith on the phone with Derek at the beginning of the episode. I hated the scene at the end with Burke and Christina. Her face was contorted like she had gas. Not emotion. Just was weird and seemed out of character, which I think it was meant to be, but it didn’t go over well for me. What else? Loved the divorce attorney asking about divorces and Derek, says, Yes! No! I’m fine, thank you. As if he were turning down a cappucino. And people, I still do not like Callie. At all. This sounds bad, but I think it’s because she’s bigger than him. I mean, physically. And she’s so..demanding/overpowering. Like, if it was the cute red-head nurse coming up into Mer’s house to move back in, I would be thinking, aw, how cute. But no, I’m like that’s weird. And why are you looking at Izzie that way, woman? I’m just not a fan.

No scoop on AI except that Katharine and not Taylor is singing Black Horse and the Cherry Tree and Paris is singing Kiss by Prince, but possibly another version. I think there was more, but I can’t remember. If you haven’t checked out this blog, it’s great. Looks like they have more current spoilers up.

So I guess the contestants know the themes well before we do because Kellie said in an interview yesterday (I think) that she was going to pick “You Give Love a Bad Name” for her birth year for next week. I know they change songs even up to a day before the show though. Someone said Taylor had to change his song this week on Monday because his other one didn’t get approved. Which may explain why he didn’t do as well this week. Anyway.

I think Chris could also do Right Here by Staind I believe.

Emma’s program turned out really cute last night. We were the silly parents waving to their children in the audience. But she sang and did the motions and everything. She was standing beside her best friend Jules and you could tell she was much more comfortable with her there than she was at Christmas without her. It’s so cute!

BIL is coming home today for good from being in Afghanistan. Scott just left a little while ago to bring them in with his patrol car. I kinda wish I went to see it. The kids are gone with Mom and I’m workin my little hiney off!

This is in response to Jaynee’s comment, but I think it’s worthy of addressing to everyone…

Yep! One of Katharine’s button’s popped in her slit in the dress and we saw some what appeared to be yellow panties. I watched it back on TIVO to confirm and sure enough you definitely see a pop.

And go to dialidol.com! You download the software and then pick people to vote for. Hook your modem up to a phone line and it dials constantly for the entire two hours. You don’t even have to enter the phone numbers. It connects to the service and inputs it. It was SO easy. It lets you know how everyone else using the software is voting and THEN when it’s done, predicts the person getting booted. And it’s been right the past 2 weeks. And yeah, that’s how they get 45 million votes. People like me that get in 351 votes by computer.
