Scott Baio is 45 and single

July 23, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Scott Baio.  I was a big fan of Charles in Charge growing up so this show caught my eye.

I caught the last 10 minutes of this show last Sunday and then downloaded the free full episode from iTunes.  Then last night was a new one.  I really enjoy this show.  It’s number one, interesting to hear about this guy’s past “love life”.  It seems he was playing the piano (phrase stolen from Ace & TJ, sorry) with anyone and everyone and treating like it was as simple as drinking a cup of coffee.  Hmm, wonder why he’s 45 and single??  Anyway.  Quite interesting as well to see what Doc Allie makes him do.  Go see his first?  Go see a couple married over 50 years?  Go apologize to the one girl that caught him cheating?  Yes, it’s all very interesting to see THOSE conversations.  He does seem to be quite the charming guy although I am quite unsure why he has the friends that he does.  That one guy is an absolute jerk and user.  Geesh, I can’t wait for the episode where Doc Allie tells Scott to drop him.  I’m curious to know if he stays with his current girlfriend Renee after the 8 weeks.  She is the first one he’s never cheated on but at the same time, he seems to question himself an awful lot about her.  I guess that’s normal though.  Maybe it is the real thing this time and he just doesn’t recognize it yet.  Anyway, I think I’ll be checking out the rest of the season.

So Sunday went well.  We had homecoming at church so we didn’t have Sunday School and we ate a potluck dinner afterwards.   Emma was invited to go to a friend’s house.  So she played there until about 6:30 last night.  Lexi hung out with us.  J&J came over about 2:30 and went swimming and then stayed until almost 9 last night.  We watched Ghostrider and had Man vs. Wild on while we chatted more.  Possible drama brewing at church, so of course we had to talk about that.  They’re just a fun couple to be around.  Never a shortage of conversation.

This week I think is low-key.  Scott is working today and tomorrow and Friday.  L will probably be around.  I haven’t talked to her mom.  3 family birthdays are this week so I’m guessing we’ll be doing a lot of dinners and cake and ice cream in the evenings.

what a day

yard sale – check

birthday party – check

cookout – check

Whew, just now having time to sit for a second and it’s only for a second.  I was up until 1:30 last night preparing for the yard sale and back up at 6:30 this morning.  That’s after being up at 6:30 the morning before after a bad night’s sleep.  I’m tired.  But happy to report we made $180 off the yard sale and donating lots of stuff also.   Now bed is calling!!

good day

July 20, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today was a good day.  Pretty much.  Except for the whole work part.  Which I didn’t do too much of but it was enough to call work.  In fact, that’s what I’m doing now.  We’re having production problems and I’m waiting on someone to call.  Ah, speak of the devil.  1 sec.

OK, so today was good because I had a nice (quiet & something besides carnation instant breakfast) breakfast at work this morning then a decent Thai lunch.  And then I left early and went shopping before the “amy is 29 celebration” at Cheesecake Factory.  I bought a skirt and two shirts and then scored 2 pairs of shoes at Nine West.  All of that for about $100.  Not bad.  And to top it off, we had dinner and dessert at Cheesecake Factory.  It was a small group but we had a good time and the food was yummy.

I have done absolutely nothing to get ready for the yard sale tomorrow.  I’ll be surprised if I get organized enough to make any money.  It’d be nice to recoup that $100 I spent today though.

Happy Birthday Live

July 19, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

OK, I know I’m wearing out this whole birthday thing but I came across this little nugget while editing for our youth group’s podcast for the week.  Yes, he had to twist the knife and announce to everyone I was 35 and not 29.

New little C

J&W who lost a baby last year (I would link to the post but can’t seem to find it.  their last son was stillborn with a genetic disorder Trisomy 18 I believe) had a bouncing baby boy this morning.  I’m so happy for them.  Scott in fact is at the hospital now with S visiting.  I’m quite jealous because I heard they had posted “family only” for visitors and I can’t really leave right now anyway because of work.  But hopefully I’ll get over to see all three of them.

I seem to be in a good mood today for whatever reason.  I did go to bed early and sleep in and now have had a cup of coffee so it could be caffeine-induced.  In either case, I like good moods so I’m not complaining.

Last evening was quite uneventful as birthday evenings go.  I went to bible study and youth group. They did sing happy birthday to me as a group so I suppose that was nice.  I was in bed I think by 10 so I am now sure I am getting old.

Scott is off today and will be until Monday.  We have quite a busy weekend planned beginning tomorrow when I go to the office and then head to the Cheesecake Factory for the last “Amy is 29” celebration.  And just thinking of all the yard sale items I need to get to Mom’s before Saturday makes me quite tired and stressed.  I believe I must not concentrate on the weekend and not kill this good mood I am in.  So, later, alligator.

29

Yes, I’m 29 today.  We technically celebrated last night.  So that’s why there’s birthday pictures already.  We went out to eat at Longhorn’s with my family.  It was very yummy.  I even got a free sundae.  I felt like a big fat cow afterwards I ate so much.  The girls ended up going home with Mom and Dad and me, Scott and Heather went to Target.  Among other things we got Emma a new car seat and as part of my birthday present, I bought a new pair of shoes and new rugs for the kitchen–yes, I’m getting old.  I bought rugs for my birthday.  Nice.

img_6952s.jpgSo Mom and the girls had gone home and made me a cake.  They brought it home at 9:30 last night and we did a mini birthday party.  Again. I didn’t weigh myself this morning just to avoid the disappointment.  Anyway, it was really nice though.  I love. that. cake.  This morning Scott called first thing to wish me a happy birthday and then showed up with Starbuck’s.  It literally put a smile on my face.

I have scheduled my mother’s day hot stone massage for today at noon.  Can’t wait for that.  The girls are not leaving today until 4 and then I’m headed to bible study and church, hence the celebration last night.  All in all, it should be a good day.
