Rascall Flatts Single “Here Comes Goodbye” Co-Written by Chris Sligh

January 21, 2009 by Amy 2 Comments

I have no idea why I’m so excited about this song.  I think maybe because it’s a few of my favorites converging…Rascal Flatts, American Idol, Chris Sligh, a good country song. Can’t wait to see a video on this.

I can hear the truck tires coming up the gravel road
And it’s not like her to drive that slow, nothings on the radio
Footsteps on the front porch, I hear my doorbell
She usually comes right in, now I can tell

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I’m gonna cry
Here comes the pain, Here comes me wishing things would never change
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye

I can hear her say I love you like it was yesterday
And I can see it written on her face that she had never felt this way
One day I thought I’d see her with her daddy by her side
And violins would play here comes the bride

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I’m gonna cry
Here comes the pain, Here comes me wishing things would never change
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye

Why does it have to go from to good to gone?
Before the lights turn on, yeah and you’re left alone
All alone, but here comes goodbye

Oh-oh-oh-oh

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I’m gonna cry
Here comes the pain, Here comes me wishing things would never change
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye

American Idol – SF Night 1

January 21, 2009 by Amy 2 Comments

Last night’s episode was a bit boring.  No one that was horrendous to entertain and no one that blew me away to root for.

Puerto Rico girl and Jesus were questionable on whether they should have made it through.

Adam Lambert, the Wicked guy I think could be really good.  Cute and good voice.  Very dramatic but I think he could switch that up.

Kai of course was my favorite for the night.  Very cute, insanely sweet, great backstory and good voice.  I agree he needs to work on his stage presence.  That will kill him past Hollywood.

Sarah posted about an interview of her and Jane Porricelli by  Jamillah Knowles for BBC Five’s Pods and Blogs . You can subscribe to the program here, or listen to it here.

The HBC (and my picture!) was also featured on urlesque.com as well as SuperPunch.com.

We are now 20 days into my reign as Miss January…only 11 days left for me to hang in people’s kitchens.  But the good news is there are 11 more hot bloggers that need to hang in your kitchen!  Technically 22 since I’m forgetting the male calendar.  And trust me, there are a few months you DON’T want to miss.  Order yours here (female) or here (male).

The Snow of 2009

January 20, 2009 by Amy 3 Comments

I’m very sure this will be The Snow for us for 2009. The kids are beyond excited. I think they were more excited about it this morning than they were for Christmas. Unfortunately it wasn’t heavy enough to make snowballs or a snowman. They were able to throw it around a bit and make a few snow angels. It was enough to satisfy them. They were wanting in for hot chocolate within 20 minutes. I’m sure when Scott wakes up from working last night he’ll have them back out there for a bit. Until then, I’m having a regular work day and the girls are enjoying their day off watching cartoons and playing inside.

The Bachelor

January 19, 2009 by Amy 6 Comments

The girls on the show STRESSED ME OUT tonight.  Seriously.  I just wanted the show to END.  After tonight, here are my top 3.

Molly – She has pulled out of nowhere and I REALLY like her.  Very down-to-earth, fun, nice, take home to meet the parents type.

Melissa – She is still so much fun and I really like her.

Jillian – She is a lot of fun.  I’m not sure if she’s mother material but she seems like a lot of fun to date.

Not Me! Monday

January 19, 2009 by Amy 8 Comments

This is a first for me to participate in Not Me! Mondays.  And I’m going to be as honest as possible here about what I DIDN’T do.  Heather, you might have to close your eyes 😉

  • I certainly did not NOT shower on Saturday.
  • I did NOT drink coffee for breakfast and then have a banana split for dinner.
  • I was NOT late for church on Sunday because we went to the gas station to get everyone breakfast.
  • We did NOT get cookies and a cheese danish for breakfast.
  • I was NOT excited when my kids asked me to spend the night with their cousin last night.
  • I did NOT go and see Twilight for the 4th time last night.
  • I did NOT eat a lousy pizza at the theater for dinner.
  • I did NOT exchange sex for a delivered white mocha this morning.  Sex should NEVER be used for that.
  • I did NOT sleep in until 10 this morning.
  • I did NOT dance down my hallway this morning to Pop Champagne by Ron Brownz

Wow, I feel so much better…

Because I’m all about the positive reinforcement

January 17, 2009 by Amy 4 Comments

Lexi has been doing perfectly with the potty training all week. We tried to take her Thursday to get her “banana slit” but wouldn’t you know they were out of bananas.
She wanted to go tonight but it was getting too late. So I had to take matters into my own hands. And for those that didn’t know my first job was at an ice cream parlor and I was known as the banana split queen. Not that you can tell from this picture…the whip cream got a little excited tonight.

“Oh, shut up. You’re wounding my soul.”

January 17, 2009 by Amy 5 Comments

  1. I worked until 10:30 Thursday night.  Blah.
  2. Last night I got to meet Melissa for coffee.  We talked for 3 hours straight, laughing most of the way.
  3. I also got stopped randomly at Panera by a guy and he asked to model for some upcoming print advertising for his men’s custom clothing business.  I was shocked and flattered.
  4. I got my hair cut today.  I like it.
  5. Scott is skiing as we speak.  He’ll be back late tonight.
  6. I have been cleaning like a fiend since I got back from my hair cut.
  7. The girls have been with MIL since last night.
  8. Which along with #5 explains how I got #6 done
  9. Our pipes froze over night.  I had no water today.  I brushed my teeth with bottled water.  Dad came over and used the high dryer.  He also fixed my keyboard.  Thanks, Dad!
  10. Last night I watched About a Boy.  That was one of few movies by Hugh Grant where I found him very handsome and charming.  I loved the movie.  The title of the post comes from that.  Just random.  Kind of like this post.
