Stitch Fix: Fix #2

March 10, 2013 by Amy

2013-03-091

I was SO anxious to get this second fix from Stitch Fix.  The first one was incredibly fun but I didn’t end up keeping any of the pieces.  I couldn’t pull the trigger on the one dress I loved because of the price.

I heard your fixes get better as you go and with a little extra credit thanks to some of you that used my referral link, I had high hopes. Thankfully, this second fix didn’t disappoint.

Item #1: Pop of Color Scarf

IMG_4500-001

You can’t see it well but this scarf had streaks of orange in it as well.  I loved the scarf but I *just* bought a black and white printed scarf that same day so I’ve opted out on this one.

Item #2: Striped Sweater

IMG_4503-001

{The jeans and shoes don’t necessarily go, sorry.} Oh man, do they know the way to my heart—stripes!  I love everything about this sweater and it’s a keeper!

Item #3:  Dolman Sweater

IMG_4505-001

I loved, loved the fit of this sweater and overall style but the color was just off for me.  If this had come in a different color, I would keep it.  I don’t know, looking at it now, I’m thinking it could be super cute with some white capris or shorts for the spring.  What do you think?

Item #4: Sweetheart Dress

IMG_4506-001

I love everything about this dress.  It’s flowy and girly and bright and printed.  It’s going to be perfect for spring with a jean jacket and great by itself in the summer.  I’m a little concerned about the fit though, especially in the sides.  Here it is with the jacket.  What do you think?

Item #5: Owl Dress

IMG_4510-001

I want to love this dress so much.  I love owls, I love the style, I love the fit but I’m just not a huge fan of the color and print.

So, better than the first, yes?  I’m telling you, just getting the box and seeing what they picked out is 90% of the fun.  I hardly care if I actually keep any of the pieces but I’m glad I found at least one this time!

I’d love for you to try it out at least once and use my referral link…for every person that signs up, you get a $25 credit to use on your next purchase!

Thanks, that color would look great on you 🙂 I’m waffling on it but since I don’t LOVE it I don’t think I’m going to keep it.

I feel the same way as you do. I’d just keep the sweater and I do like that scarf on you! Mom

The scarf is a bit pricey but if I keep all 5 pieces I get 25% off the whole thing so I definitely would have kept it in that case.

I like the dolman sweater – it would be good for spring/summer. I think the sweetheart dress is too boxy on you – you have a such a cute figure, it’s like a half size too big, I think. I agree on the owl dress – cute style, wrong colors. The scarf is nice, but not spectacular. The striped sweater is definitely the best one!

And I hate to say it, but you could get the dolman sweater at Old Navy!

Does it cost to sent it all back? Do you have to pay $20 for each box?

Return shipping is free. The $20 styling fee you pay up front each time but goes towards any purchase you make. If you don’t keep anything, you do forfeit your $20 so it’s worth it to keep at least one thing. Last time I did not just because the dress I wanted was $110 and it was just cheaper to lose the $20. I considered it part entertainment :). Of course I wouldn’t continue it if it was like that every time but everyone assures me it gets better with time.

Wow! This was a good one!!! I like the stripes and I love the dolman sweater look on you but I think you are right about the color. I love the bright colored dress on you, that color is fabulous but I think it is just a little to big. 🙁 I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to do this! Thanks for sharing.

I’m so bummed about the dress! It feels SO good on. The girls call it my Taylor Swift dress 🙂

You should totally do it once or twice just to see and if you hate it, you can stop it. It really is just fun to have it delivered!

I think you should keep the sweetheart dress and add a chunky (or skinny) brown belt. It would show off your figure and still be comfortable. I actually like the owl dress. I think with heels and a bold lip color it would be so cute. Glad you had more success this time around. It’s fun to read about. 🙂

Cute stuff! We Amy’s are working on the same wavelength today. I wrote about my 2nd fix, too. It’s so much fun.

I only kept the striped sweater. I almost went and retrieved the dress from the mailbox but it just wasn’t the right fit.

I received a dolman shirt like yours from Stitch Fix. Mine was burgundy and I was surprised that I ended up liking it. I kept it along with a cute necklace. 🙂

Oh I’d love to have it in that color for the fall.
