Actually, I see a lot of work in our future.  Scott just went to Home Depot to order our hardwoods.  Yippee!!  The kids are actually headed to the beach next weekend with IL’s and SIL and we realized it’s the perfect opportunity to tear apart the house and work hard on it.  We’re planning on doing the kitchen (including The guys said the other night it would take 7-14 days to get it in but I’m hoping we can pay a tad extra to make sure it’s in by next week.  We are not spending nearly as much as we thought on it so I don’t mind making the installation as easy as possible.  Home Depot doesn’t have it on their site or I’d link to it but we’re getting Handscraped Elm in a Walnut color.  I’m so excited!

*Bad news..he just got back and we can’t hurry the process up and it may be 2 weeks before we get it.  Oh well.

I don’t know who else to share this with except Heather and Scott and this is just too good to only tell TWO people…please don’t be sick of hearing about my OTH site but I think we are going to hit THIRTY THOUSAND page views today.  As in 30,000.  Like, with FOUR ZEROS.  In ONE day.

Speedtest

I FINALLY got some curtains up in my dining room.  Mom owns a business selling them and custom blinds so you would THINK I would have them as soon as we moved in but no.  And it’s not her fault either.  I am so flighty and indecisive when it comes to curtains.  I think it’s because I’ve been around it my whole life and I know all the options.  Of course, my mom and sister do too and I don’t think they are nearly as bad as me.  I think I’m just one of their "bad" customers.  It took FOREVER to pick the fabric out and literally months to decide on the hardware.  I didn’t get great pictures, but here you go.

I love, love, love it.  To me it makes the room look so much more "grown-up" and complete.  And when we put dark hardwoods down in there and maybe get a rug and get new fabric on the chairs…oh boy, we’ll be cooking then.

Wow, these Walgreens deals have me busy this week.  I went back today after work and then again after the girls went to bed.  What do I keep getting?  The Oil of Olay bar soap, Venus Razor and Herbal Essence shampoo. I now have TWELVE bottles of shampoo and conditioner along with all the other shampoo and conditioner I have built up.  I think it’s time to give some away.  Wow.  The lady at the register actually recognized me tonight and remarked on the fact I had left the girls at home.  Yeah, I think I’ve been too much.   The thing about Walgreens is there is no limit.  So I could do the deals twice a day every day this week if I wanted.  The only thing holding me back from NOT doing that is I ran out of coupons for the things on sale so the deals aren’t quite as sweet.  So tonight I ended up with $12 RR and needed to spend it on something.  I didn’t really want to roll it into any more of the deals because my coupons had run out so Heather and I decided I should get something “fun”.  After combing the aisles you know what I did with my $12?  I bought Splenda, Comet, coloring books and Magic Erasers.  Yeah, I’m getting old.

There is some sort of Chick-fil-A craziness that happened here in town this morning. That picture is a picture of the first Chick-fil-A in our town. It opened this morning at 6 am and the first 100 people got a free meal for a year. This picture was taken about 6pm last night and I’m not sure if you can see them, but there are probably 10 tents set up to the right side of the building in the parking lot.

Scott was really curious so he went out last night about 9pm to see them and he said the entire parking lot was full and there was even a camper out there. AND they had a DJ out there playing music and people were up and dancing around.

What the heck? I calculated it and that only equals about $280. They slept outside in probably 20 degree weather for $280. Did anyone in town see this? Is this some sort of phenomenon that happens everywhere??

**Update:  Scott just stopped by the house while he’s working today and said guess what I did at 5am this morning?  I guessed he went to Chick-fil-A and sort of hoped he got us free food for a year.  He said, I drove by Chick-fil-a in my patrol car and blew my air horn and said over the PA “Eat more chicken!  Eat more chicken!” trying to wake everyone up.  LOL

One downfall of working from home is I don’t have all that room to store “office stuff”. Pictures of my kids…calendars I would never hang at home..Dwight bobbleheads…school artwork from my kids…and Dilbert paraphernalia. But I hit a Dilbert sale in the $1 bin at Target and I just couldn’t help myself. I bought THREE packs of the magnets to ensure I got all the ones that were funny, a notepad, sticky pad and a pack of two bic pens with rotating quotes. And my desk here at home just happens to have a small metal insert on the side…the exact side where people can’t really see it from other parts of my house. Score.
