Ow

January 16, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Last week I think I mentioned I went to a new custom cuts that I really liked.  And then I got up early Friday morning to go to another custom cuts at 8am with S.  And then Sunday I went to a spinning class.  My arms have hurt SO bad this weekend that it even hurt and took effort to pump the soap dispenser.  No lie.  I couldn’t even stretch it out all the way to stretch it without it hurting like crap.  It is feeling better today and I’m hoping to go back to the custom cuts class tomorrow afternoon so hopefully it will be all gone by tomorrow.

So I have been going to the gym for 15 months now.  Most weeks I have gone 3 times a week, less in the past 3 months, but I’m getting back into the habit again.  But I’m actually a couple pounds up from what I was in the beginning.  I really wish I had taken measurements because I know I must have made some sort of changes to my body.  My cholesterol has gone down 30 points and that was really my goal for the whole thing but come on, 150 times at the gym and no results?  Let’s hope even though we will never really be able to tell.

I was talking to my sister last night and her and my parents are on Herbalife.  All of them have lost around 5 lbs in about a week and a half.  But my sister has lost 12 inches!!  And so I mentioned I wish I had taken my measurements and she said that her and Mom had talked about they noticed that I looked more sculpted.  Of course they would probably never tell me this.  But how cool is that?  I am in the same size pants I was and up and up a couple pounds but I guess it’s possible I can be more sculpted.  Which makes me want to work out even more.  It’s always good to see hard work pay off.

Haircut

January 16, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

OK, so today I’m going to get my hair cut at a new place. I really wanted to go yesterday afternoon since I was off but I reluctantly agreed to reschedule for today at lunch.  I really want to go to my original hair dresser at Toni & Guy but paying $55 for a hair cut just hurts.  So I had tried the last 2 times someone in York but she is at least 35 minutes away and she does great color but I don’t prefer her cuts.  So today I’m trying a local place about 5 minutes away.  They’ve just renovated a very old house in town to their salon and it looks fancy-shmancy so I’m going to see if their services live up to their place.

Posting from new computer!

January 13, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Got my new computer yesterday!  Almost exactly as I expected–noon on Friday.  You can tell the computer is used..a couple marks and torn off stickers but the computer seems set up well with lots of software that I had already planned on loading.  It’s definitely faster than my old one.  The speakers were missing their power cord so I have to email them about that.  But yay!

Podcasts

January 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

So with my new iPod, I have found several Podcasts…want to know what I’m listening to?   I’m listing it in somewhat of an order of what I like most/listen to most:

  • Central Church of God
  • Daily Audio Bible
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • Joel Osteen
  • Love Jesus, Hate Church
  • Joyce Meyer
  • Ace & TJ
  • Podrunner (haven’t actually listened to yet but supposed to be good for cycling running at a consistent rate)

And of course once I get my church’s/youth group’s online, it will be there as well.

Waiting impatiently

January 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I’m really ready for my new computer.  FedEx tracking has not been updated since Saturday morning!  That’s such a bummer.  I know it’s coming from the opposite side of the country but still!  I have so much to do when it gets here!  I have a feeling I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!

Dyson DC07

January 10, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Our vacuum cleaner finally gave up this weekend after 8 years and on my parents recommendation, went out to buy the Dyson which was on sale at Target. And from what I hear, that doesn’t happen often. So we got the basic model DC07. Things I like about it. The first thing I noticed that I really liked was the cord length. Way longer than our older model and I only had to plug it in one place in the center of our house and it could reach everywhere. Not saying TOO much for our little ranch but it made me happy. I also liked the fact that I could actually see all the crud I was vacuumming up. Felt like I was actually working. The vacuum was so light it felt like it could hardly be doing anything. So obviously a good thing is it seems to vacuum well. My rug in my living room looked extremely clean after I was done. And emptying the canister could not have been easier. No more nasty bags to change. But I do have a few complaints. The vacuum is pretty tall. We store the vacuum in our hall closet and while it of course fits, it’s just not going to be as easy to manuever in the closet when it’s in there like the other one. I think that sounds weird, but you’d just have to see our closet. I also didn’t like that when you vacuumed, it left 4 smaller “stripes” within the larger “stripe” so instead of pretty vacuum lines, you have like a ton of vacuum lines in your carpet after you are done. Maybe there is some setting I can change on it so it doesn’t do that, I don’t know. And my last complaint is it is really difficult to configure the thing to use the attachments. My parents were at my house last night and they said it is different than their older Dyson and much harder to do than theirs. Which I thought was odd since my is newer. And it is definitely not as easy as my old one. The up side to it is the wand and hose for the attachment is long and I don’t have to drag the vacuum along to use it. So all in all, I think we made the right decision and I’ll definitely be recommending it.

Miscalculation

OK, so our taxes aren’t as great as I thought.  But still looks like 30% more than last year so no complaints!

SLVR

January 8, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

WhooHoo!  I’m a proud owner of SLVR.  eBay member came through for me and I received it on Friday.  No complaints except I can’t use my iTunes music for my ringtones.  Bummer.
