Ok, Scott came in the

March 25, 2004 by Amy

Ok, Scott came in the door about 15 minutes after my last post WITHOUT Emma. I about freaked.
A:Where’s Emma?!
S: Don’t worry about Emma
A: Where is Emma?!
S: I said don’t worry about Emma
A: You better tell me where my daughter is. Tell me she’s at S’s!
S: Yes, of course..

OK, so it freaked me out at the beginning that he actually took Emma to S’s. That means he arranged a babysitter days ahead of time without my knowledge. How cool is that. He took me to a new Italian restaurant we’ve been wanting to go to but was too fancy to take Emma. I had steak and he had a pasta plate. It was so great to be out to a restaurant and not worry about Emma. We decided on no dessert at the restaurant but opted for a sundae from McDonald’s :). I know, cheap dessert, but I’ve been craving their hot fudge lately. I even mentioned it the other night. We went after that to pick up Emma. Neither one of us wanted to keep Emma over there too long. We found her in a good mood and happy to be there. They said she was very easy to watch. But she was tired when she got home. She took a very quick bath and barely got her clothes on before she was out like a light.
Now back to my husband–isn’t that the best??? I can’t believe he did all this. I’m still in shock that he actually called S and called on favor to watch her. S even gave up a hair appointment to watch her claiming she couldn’t say no when he was being so sweet. I’m so proud!

OK, something strange is happening.

March 25, 2004 by Amy

OK, something strange is happening. Scott said earlier he was taking care of dinner. At 5:00 he told me my clothes were laid out in the bathroom and he and Emma were taking a car ride and would be back to get me to go to dinner. They’ve been gone for about 30 minutes. I’ve been ready for about 27 minutes. I called about 10 minutes ago and asked where in the world he was and he said he’d be there in a minute, actually a few minutes. Where is he?! I was thinking maybe he took Emma to play with S&H’s house and they were going to sit for us and he was taking me out. I’m not too overdressed. Just a low cut shirt (imagine that), jeans and black high heels. He even had all my jewelry picked out. What is going on??

It’s really gorgeous out today.

March 25, 2004 by Amy

It’s really gorgeous out today. 70 degrees and a blue sky. Scott is washing the cars, Emma is napping and I’m doing basically nothing. Not much to talk about, so here’s a picture.

I know I’ve said it

March 23, 2004 by Amy

I know I’ve said it too much, but I’ve been doing more ebay stuff. The stuff is like multiplying. Since Thursday I’ve put 137 items on there! It’s getting ridiculous. My big find in the stuff they gave me is an overhead projector spare bulb that is going for $150 on ebay! Waahoo! The silliest for some reason to me is an Electric Cheese Grater. I think it would be really cool to use one but every time I think of it, I chuckle inside. And good gracious the books, they are overflowing. I still have 2 signed copies of books of Jim Harrison that I’m still trying to price out. I have an email out I’m waiting on. I sure wish they could have replied today because ebay’s having another listing sale today.

ANYWAY! This would be lots of fun if I didn’t have another job but it’s a lot of work! It is quite fun though once you get it all listed. ok, ANYWAY, again! This American Idol is really good this year compared to other years. No one can NOT sing. ‘member that guy with the deaf parents in the first year that kept singing the same song horribly? Ugh. That was awful. I really like Diana. And I really don’t like Matt too much. John (the surfer dude one) is really good. He just needs to find a niche. Amy was awesome tonight with the country although she normally isn’t ranked too high with me. Camille has really disappointed me. I really like George but I’m not sure how far he’ll get? I think LaToya and Fantasia are still up there but I did not like Fantasia’s attitude tonight. I didn’t like Jennifer’s for that matter either.

I can’t wait for The Bachelor to start. My sister says they’re changing it up and one of the girls is going to be giving him the inside scoop or something. Should be interesting.

I’ve been a little crabby lately. Not sure what is going on. I don’t think I’ve been very good to be around. I haven’t really been mean, just a little boring I think. Now I have been crabby to Scott. I don’t know why either. He has been such a sweetie lately. Washing the clothes, getting up with Emma in the middle of the night, getting up with her in the morning and letting me sleep, changing out the dishwasher. It’s all been great. I think the problem is he expects something in return. He doesn’t say it, but if I say no to something he wants, it’s like, but I’ve been doing so good. Uh, yeah, that should be normal. Ok, I know I should show a little gratitude, but the begging gets old after awhlie. Sometimes I feel like I have two children, not one and both are yanking at my clothes all day, just for different reasons.

OK, things got a little

March 21, 2004 by Amy

OK, things got a little crazy as we found out on Thursday that Emma got RSV and maybe a little croup for the second March (and her only March’s) in a row. It is certainly not as bad as last year when it sent her to the hospital. She only has a rough time at night and just has a couple coughing spells during the day. We are doing middle of the night breathing treatments but the good news is they do seem to help.

This weekend with my aunt, uncle, grandma, etc. visiting was a whirl of shopping, eating and just hanging out. Truth be told, I spent most of my time on the computer finishing up for my implemenation at work and then putting books on ebay since they had a insertion fee sale. I put 93 items on there and wasn’t even done!!

<a href=”http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=bennettaj&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50″>Check them out here..</a>
I have religious, medical, marketing, technical, novels and mostly other nonfiction type books. The books are my best friend’s parents who went to work with troubled teens and they are basically selling all they had and they had quite a book collection. Most of them are hardback and all of them look brand new. I think I have one more box to list still. Yes, I know that was a shameless plug, but I know some of you are bookaholics and I’m just trying to feed the monster 🙂

My sore throat got worse and then got better. I think it’s settled in my chest for now as a yucky cough thing.

Emma is 16 months as of yesterday! She is quite the little person! I painted her nails red and everyone had a fit over her pig tails and painted nails. Sometimes when you ask her about her nails, she’ll spread her fingers out and show them. Hmm..I’m trying to think if there’s anything new she’s doing. She’s getting better at her words..dog, ball, momma, bye-bye. She has all kinds of expressions and hand motions. She lifts her eyebrows a lot lately and has been putting her hands out as to say get me. She holds them really close to her chest and it’s so cute! You can’t say no! She is not so much fun shopping. She doesn’t like her stroller or a cart and doesn’t really like to hold a hand when she walks. Now she does like to grab hold of clothing and rearrange them on the floor, making a trail of mess for someone to clean up. She is a smart cookie if you ask me. She is so good at those little wooden puzzles that have the knobs on top. She will sit there and put them in, dump it and do it over like 6 or 7 times in a row. And she usually can find where the piece goes and turns it around to get it in. She remembers places now. She gets excited when going to church, the grocery store, my mom’s house. She still loves animals. Of course now that she has been walking for 6 months she is a pro and pretty much runs. She goes in circles, knows how to put her head down to do a flip. She sits on her knees and squats. She can use a fork and a spoon a little bit. Hmm, I don’t know what else. She’s a little sweetheart. Loves to give out hugs and is a friend to anyone.

My throat hurts so bad.

March 17, 2004 by Amy

My throat hurts so bad. I think I might have strep but I ended up just going to CVS and getting some Tylenol Sore Throat. It seems to have helped actually. We’ll see if it gets any better on its own. Emma has something. Runny nose, congested chest. I bought her some medicine too but she didn’t like the citrus flavor. She normally downs her Tylenol like candy.

I went to work today and got quite a bit done. My manager asked me if I were willing to increase my hours/if I’d ever be willing to come on as a full-time employee instead of a contractor. In short basically said I was not interested in coming back to the office 5 days a week again but I was always ready to listen to an offer. We’ll see what she comes up with.

Tomorrow I get more ebay stuff and tomorrow is .10 listing day for books which is what she said most of it was. Hopefully I can work on it tomorrow.

Now that was one quiet

March 15, 2004 by Amy

Now that was one quiet weekend. Really couldn’t have done much less. Well, we did a lot around the house, but we only went out to go to the post office and church. It actually was very nice. The house was actually clean for 2 days. You would never know that now, but it was nice while it lasted.

We found out yesterday Scott missed being the courtesy officer here at the apartments (*read that half off the rent) by 2 weeks! Apparently the apt mgr didn’t think he had jurisdiction here since he wasn’t a deputy like previous courtesy officers. Uh, hello, he has statewide jurisdiction, not just the county! Oh well. She said she’d be sure to contact us if anything changed. Man, half off?? We might have to move to the 3 bedroom with the 3 car garage!!

Daddy and baby ran to

March 12, 2004 by Amy

Daddy and baby ran to the grocery store. I’m supposed to be working, but I’m taking a few minute break. My brain is dangerously full. This project goes in next Friday and I’m still having to code and test, code and test. Ugh!

I think it will be a quiet weekend. I don’t think we are having visitors and we aren’t going back home until Tuesday. That will be for an extended stay though. My aunt, uncle and cousins are visiting at my moms Thurs-Sun so we are hanging around town to visit with them. Well, Scott is going to the beach Thurs-Sat with our old church, but Emma and I will be around. The only thing that sucks is since my aunt, etc is staying at my mom’s we have to stay with MIL Thurs-Sat nights. Which that in itself is not so bad, it’s just that the point is the visit with aunt, etc and I’ll have to be at MIL by 7:30ish to put Emma to bed. Oh, and not to mention the fact that the crib is in the same room as the guest room and the guest bed is completely uncomfortable. I can handle the bed, but I can not handle Emma waking up and insisting to be in bed with us since she sees us in there. Not good.
