Update

So where have I been?

I went to the office last Wednesday.  Left around 2 as a gift from the managers.  Which kind of stunk because it was the last day I will probably go to the office for awhile..more on that in a minute.

Thanksgiving day we spent lunch at Mom’s and then went home for naps and then dinner at Scott’s grandmother’s.  It was all pretty relaxing, no drama to report.

Mom kept the girls Thursday night so instead of getting up before the crack of dawn to shop Friday morning, we decided to sleep in.  Very nice.  The rest of Friday was spent getting the tree up.  Friday night we went to Sake for MIL’s birthday and came home and watched Match Point–not good.

Friday night Emma stayed with MIL so I got up Saturday and cleaned almost the whole day.  Very nice to get a bunch of it done.  Saturday night was spent watching Over the Hedge–it was ok, kids weren’t impressed much.

Sunday was a very full day at church.  The choir sang at a funeral and also started practice early for the cantata at 4.  So I really was at church all day long.

And today…oh today.  Today Scott started work back today.  He goes in 7-3 every. day.  Ugh, I’ve always claimed I couldn’t work from home without the help of Scott 2-3 days a week and I hope I prove myself wrong for at least a couple of weeks.  This morning went fine and I’m not stressed at all.  But of course it took some preparing last night.  Got their bags and outfits ready.  And I’ve had to prepare myself for having to cart the kids back and forth 3 times a week myself.  I do have to admit it’s nice having a quiet house though.  No complaining about clothes in the floor (not that there are any right now) or empty cups on tables (only 1) or having to answer computer questions or listening to loud cell phone conversations.  Yes, there are some perks.  But I’m sure it will get old fast.

Prayer of a Struggling Saint

November 27, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

My heart longs to follow you
Yet darkness calls to satisfy
The yearnings will not stop
Though continually I try

Please make my desires yours
For now your will is not my own
I know if that does not change
It is only grief I’ve sown

I want to offer a clean hurt that’s true
Keep waiting to make amends
But only when my eyes can see
All I have to offer is sin

So take my pride
Strip me of my boasts
Only when you take what’s left
May your will be my own

work

I worked my butt off last week.  Put in 10 extra hours.  I didn’t get to the gym at all, didn’t do much at all except watch my shows at night.  So not much to report from last week.  I did go to the office last week for the afternoon.  Had a nice day out I guess you could say.  Finally met someone after working with them through email/chat/phone for 6 years!  The bad thing is she only lives 15 minutes from me physically.  We never could work out meeting up though.

girls birthday party

November 20, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

We had the girls birthday party Saturday night.  Just family and D&D brought their girls.  It ended up being Strawberry Shortcake themed.  Mom took Emma cake shopping at Harris Teeter Friday and she fell in love with their new 3 story Strawberry Shortcake cake (which Emma thinks is REALLY funny –cake cake–that’s a joke, mommy!).  It turned out really cute with the kids table all decorated and red, pink and green balloons.  And the 3 older girls had a blast opening presents.  It was like Christmas for all of them.  Lexi dug into the cake.  I had serve everyone else’s cake from the opposite side.  Which we had PLENTY of cake.  And poor Lexi would NOT take a nap Saturday so she was about in a daze by the time we got to the end of her presents and she fell asleep after everything was done.  They all had a good time though.  The double party worked out good.  Not sure if we’ll do it next year since Emma will be 5 but it was great this year.

ebay scam got me

November 20, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

So apparently one of the transactions I thought legit wasn’t really.  Looks like I’m going to be out around $800 or so.  This stinks.  In a bad way.

Clean Freak

November 13, 2006 by Amy Leave a Comment

cleaning.jpgI did so much cleaning this weekend, it’s unbelievable.  Really.  I did my regular cleaning–floors, dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, laundry, dishes.  I’m always LUCKY to get that done.  But this weekend, I cleaned out our hall closet, tupperware cabinet (yes, we HAD a LOT of tupperware), another kitchen cabinet and also finally went through all the crap on our kitchen counter–you know that counter/table that catches all the crap that comes into the house for future sorting.  Yeah, well, I did all that sorting.  I keep looking at my clean counter and then look at my clean cabinets underneath and smile thinking that those are clean too :).

ebay scams

November 13, 2006 by Amy 1 Comment

I could have been scammed TWICE this weekend through ebay.  It has now cost me over $10 because of fees.  The first said he was going to pay with Western Union and have the box picked up through DHL.  Well, it came time for DHL to pick it up and the money had not cleared.  I cancelled the pickup and emailed the guy.  Then realized he was no longer a user with ebay and emailed him and said it was a scam and I wasn’t shipping it.  He never emailed me back.

So I put another laptop yesterday.  I guy bought it overnight and said he would pay through paypal.  He used to live in NC, was in Australia now and wanted the laptop shipping to his grandson in Nigeria and would have FedEx pick up the box.  Yeah right.  Just google Nigeria and ebay and you’ll see. So I emailed the guy and said I would not accept payment and would not be shipping it to him.

What is with these people?!  It’s terrible!
