Okay, okay, I didn’t cook WITH Ree but I did cook through her entire first cookbook and met her just as I was finishing up. It is no understatement when I say this cookbook changed my life.
By the time I finished, I had learned how to actually cook from scratch. Sure, I could whip up a mean pot of spaghetti or Mexican casserole but that was about as far as it went.
I remember before B.R. (Before Ree), I did not regularly keep butter in my fridge. Flour was scarce and onions and potatoes came to my house to rot at the bottom of my pantry. Years later, I’m more confident in the kitchen, make homemade meals nearly every night and my family is ever grateful. Relive some of those moments in this series.
