Everyone is getting sick around here again. Time for another round I guess. Scott was laid up in bed most of the day with fever and he STILL went to work. The girls both felt warm this evening and took late naps at Denny’s. Made for a nice dinner out actually. Hopefully they will sleep off whatever it is. FIL went to the dr with bronchitis last Friday so I’m REALLY hoping it’s not that.

I’m watching AI right now and honestly, I’m not that impressed with many of them. I thought Princess redeemed herself of whatever went wrong last week because I thought she was really good tonight. A little extra bouncy, but her vocals were good. Kellie’s nerves got to her and if anything gets her out of this competition, it’s going to be her inexperience. I think I’m going to have to agree with Randy that the guys may have it this year. Can’t wait to hear Taylor and Chris tomorrow.

So my SS teacher/youth group leader called today to see how Sunday went since I taught when he was out. He threw out the idea of me taking over the class. I told him I saw it coming down the road somewhere but didn’t commit one way or the other. And I do see it coming and expect it at the new church year in September at the latest. It makes me a little nervous to be completely responsible for that but it does excite me to have the challenge. I just feel like I’m still at the point that I could learn so much. I told him I’d have to start coming to youth group to hear him if I started teaching. I’m really happy with the direction our church is heading. With the (fairly) new pastor and youth pastor, at least things are moving now. And they seem to be concentrating on challenging believers more instead of making it all about non-believers which hey, church is about that, but believers can’t disciple others without knowing what they’re talking about and growing in their own walk.

AI update–the 16 year old–why can’t I remember their names?!–was awesome!

OK, Scott just walked in. Thank goodness he didn’t try to stay up all night working. So I’m offa here!

Grey’s Anatomy!!! It was so good!!!! So many things happened! Mr. McSteamy….need I say more?? Did anyone else feel like Thatcher seemed like a dumb rock? He just had this look on his face the entire time that just seemed like what planet am I on? And poor Georgie!! I just can not believe that Meredith is going to use him like that. I think I don’t like Meredith for the first time.

My long weekend is officially over. It went by way too quick although I can say I got a lot accomplished. I never did clean Friday night but tackled it Saturday morning. I even got out to buy the vacuum bags we needed so I could vacuum again. Nothing much else exciting was accomplished for the weekend except I actually got a nap yesterday and today I did several errands I needed to get done. I even started to look for stuff to do because I had done so much. Somehow my washer and dryer stays busy enough. I’m so determined to not need to do laundry this week!

Emma went to see Curious George on Friday with Mom. She said she got really nervous and shy when they went in the theater but she says she had a good time. Mom said she was disappointed in the movie. She said they barely showed George in the first 30 minutes of the movie.

We had some problems with my implementation at work last night and even more problems today. The stuff should have been caught when we were testing but ultimately I’m the developer and should have caught it. I hate when I make mistakes. So most of this morning was pretty crappy.

Good news for today though is we will be getting our taxes in just a few short weeks and I bought Grey’s Anatomy the First Season on DVD. Woo Hoo! That’s all I’ve done since coming home this evening. I was a little disappointed with the bonus material but I LOVE rewatching after watching the bonus material and LOVE watching it with NO commercials. It’s fabulous. And I got to see when Meredith saw Derek for the first time again. And I heard when Mr. McDreamy was used for the first time. This is going to be great!

So I feel even more crappy that I’m not cleaning my house. Which means I’ll be doing it with a child underfoot in the morning. Emma is gone with Mom so I’ll just have one though.

Scott is off doing a side job. It was supposed to be a 4 hour thing that has now turned into a 6 hour thing. But I keep saying I’m going to stop watching Grey’s when he gets home so maybe it’s ok :).

I’m working tonight. We had an implementation. Still in the middle of it and waiting on people. Waiting on Survivor to come on. Just waiting.

Went to the gym last night and today. I feel so much better when I do that. They about kill me though. Sweatshop class both times. I should have had a clue by the name right?

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my tan. I have no idea how I’m not going to go get another one.

Did I mention Lexi’s checkup? She was 23 lbs, 50% weight, 75% height. He said her speech was fine but if she didn’t show significant improvement by next time at 20 months, he was going to have her evaluated. I think she is going to be fine. I can tell she wants to talk, but it just doesn’t come out yet. I was surprised on her height though. She started what I think they call molding about two weeks ago–where they lay their head down on your shoulder when asleep/going to sleep. I love that.

Last night we were out at a restaurant and me and Lexi each had a basket of food. It was towards the end. She was standing in the booth beside me. She started trying to play with something on the table and I tried to take it from her. She got mad and needed to move her basket. She flung and I mean flung her basket at me. The whole thing dumped on my lap. You should have seen my face. Complete shock. Thank goodness it was just chicken and leftover fruit juice from her meal. It wasn’t a disaster but it was hilarious.

Emma has been getting tired in the afternoons again. Two days in a row she has passed out at like 5:30 for long naps. Last night she didn’t go back to sleep until 11. I was about to pass out. I had a headache from this new fingernail polish she got. I put us both in my bed, put Dora on for 30 minutes and then cut it off and we went to sleep. She is back asleep now after falling asleep I think before 7. I hope she stays asleep all night.

OK, so I caught up on some of AI tonight. Let me just say me favorites are…hang on, let me look up their names…ok, they don’t have their names up yet. But here they are as I know them.

Chris Daughtry – “Bald Rocker” – reminds me of the guy from Miami Ink – what a cutie!
gray haired guy – seems like he has some sort of issues but the man is talented
famous women’s granddaughter – I didn’t hear her last night so maybe she’s not as good as I remember
blond girl from Gastonia (very close to me) – it worries me that she is so similar to Carrie but I think she will do well

That’s all I can think of now so I guess that’s all that made a big impression (or got the most air).

I have to teach Sunday School on Sunday and our teacher is the youth pastor. He teaches on Wednesday night to them what he’s going to teach to us the following Sunday. So I went tonight to hear what it was about. I got a lot more than I planned. It was awesome. I got a little bit of my great Sunday morning on Wednesday night. What was so great? Well, he talked about Jesus being baptized and what I realized was how symbolic our baptism is. Baptism shows how we are dead in Christ, get buried and are raised as a new being and that’s what Christ did. He died for us, was buried and then rose again. I’ve known that all my life but it sort of hit me again. I was baptized when I was 12 so it’s been awhile since I’ve really thought about it. And also, the Bible says that after Jesus was baptized God was well-pleased with him. He did nothing but be obedient. Jesus did not need to be baptized but God wanted an example for us and God was pleased when he obeyed. And isn’t that the only thing that God wants from us? That what He is pleased with is us being obedient to Him. He asks for humble servants and when we can be humble enough to do what He wants instead of what we want, He is pleased. And guess what? The good news is He loves us like we love our children and when we obey, it’s the best thing for us! Whew! I hope Sunday is as good as tonight.

Last night was so much fun!! I added some pictures here http://www.sabennett.com/gallery under Valentine’s Day. Everything went as planned. I loved my outfit even more than I thought I would. Scott liked it lots and was taking pictures even throughout dinner. Sort of embarrassing, but at least I knew he liked it. So Scott brought me tulips to dinner and had the waiter put them in their vase with water. So sweet. I had filet mignon for dinner of course and it was yummy. I even got a (virgin) strawberry daiquiri to drink. We were all stuffed at the end and didn’t even get dessert! We sat around and told funny stories and I’m sure annoying the rest of the guests there. I was laughing so hard I was wiping mascara away on my linen napkin. We were there for over two hours and stopped at Starbuck’s on the way home. Joni was getting tired though so we called it a night when we got back to our house. Even though we didn’t do anything earth-shattering, it was great to get dressed up and eat a dinner without having to feed anyone else. And boy, was it yummy!

So I missed AI last night and most of House!! Ugh! Can catch up on AI tonight hopefully.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

So today is the big day! Dinner tonight and I can’t wait! I got another tan last night. Which I’m not quite as happy as it turned out this time. I waited until the morning to get a shower and I feel like it’s darker this time. Probably because I had a base tan too but the parts that had started coming off didn’t come out even again, they sort of just laid on top so I still look splotchy in a couple places. Thankfully they are in not too noticeable places.

So I still need to get makeup that matches my face, fingernail polish that goes with my shoes and earrings. So I’m going to Target at lunch.

D has changed her outfit plans like 4 times. Last time I checked she was wearing goucho pants, a “hot” coral colored top and black high heels. Which makes me feel better than the jeans she had once planned to wear. J is wearing jeans though and a cool top. But she just had a baby 4 weeks ago so I’m not about to expect anything else (I didn’t tell this story here I don’t think but they lost their baby with trisomy-13 at 26 weeks last month–so I’m just glad they are getting out).

Lexi has a check-up this morning. Poor thing has to get a shot I think. I’ll be interested to see where she is on the growth charts though.
