Last night my family was planning on going out shopping and Mom had to stop by “a customer’s house”.  We got there and it was M’s house. M&M made me a birthday surprise.  They decorated her room and made me a cake.  They were so sweet.  I was SO surprised.  We went swimming and then just went up to her room and talked about church and speaking in tongues and OF COURSE guys.  It was G, C and DD.  He’s a new guy of M’s.  We stayed up till 6:00am and got up at 10am.  4 hours of sleep.  I am so tired.  Last night I called G and he told me he was thinking about me – alot.  I asked him what he was thinking and he said happy things.  I was fixing to say happy, happy, joy, joy but I didn’t.  He said he had to tell me something.  I just don’t know what it is. I  really, really want to find out.  Like now.

This might make you want to throw up….my apologies in advance.

We’re on our way to camp and I’m not looking forward to it at all.  Me and Heather were not able to sign up in a cabin so we got stuck with people we don’t even know.  Heather is okay about it, but it sort of upsets me!  I want to be with my friends, especially on my 16th birthday.  I want to try to change it, but I have a feeling it’s not going to work.  Maybe S can do something for me.  Plus, I miss Scott.  I haven’t seen him since Friday night.  I hope he’s thinking about me because he’s all I can think about.

Later…

Well, things have gone better.  I’ve found friends here in my cabin and even though things didn’t work out as I had wanted, I know I will have a good time.  I’m starting not to care what other people think.  E, me, Heather and another girl, C, are the only people on this side of the cabin.  I still miss Scott so terriblly.  I just want to feel his arms around my small waist (as he calls it) and kiss his soft lips.  And to know I will not be doing this until Friday breaks my heart into many unbearable pieces.  Okay, let’s not get too mushy. [too late]  But I don’t care how I talk [really?  you should] I still miss him.  I want to call him but he’s at the beach.  I hope he’s thinking about me.  Tomorrow is my birthday – my 16th birthday.

happy monday

July 16, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Well, I’m not sure about happy monday, but it is monday.  Yesterday can be simply summarized in four words..church, nap, choir, chill.  Very laid back day.

Scott was off to Columbia this morning for some sort of drug training.  Lexi was awake even before him although she was content to lay in bed with me and watch tv.  As soon as I was up, both girls were in whine-mode and it was NOT starting my week off good.  I got up and got ready and got them ready and they got into the swing of things playing and such.  Now, I’m waiting on our Crystal Springs thing to come. They said they’d be here between 10 and 11 and they have 20 minutes left.

Hmm..other plans for the week.  Scott has to go to Columbia again tomorrow and then is back on days and has to work Wednesday.  Then is off until Monday.  My birthday is Wednesday.  I may finally use the hot stone massage gift card I got for Mother’s Day but we have no other plans.  Friday I’m going to work and we’re doing an early dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  That is if anyone decides to go.  This Saturday will be quite busy with a yard sale, birthday party for D&D’s girls and a cookout that night.  I think that’s the major plans for the week.  I definitely want to try to get to the gym 3-4 times this week.

Work is busy this week.  Lots of production issues popped up last week and I have to get them all implemented this week.  Maybe I’ll get some more overtime in, my checks have been awful nice with extra hours on it.

I think that’s it for now, nothing interesting.  Maybe I’ll find some Vintage Amy posts, I haven’t done one in a few weeks.

Simple day

July 14, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

So after the “big party” today MIL took the girls.  I headed to the gym (woot!  4 times this week I think) and Scott took a nap (old man!).  I came home, got ready and left to go pick Lexi up and head to my mom’s for dinner.  Emma is going with SIL to Tweetsie Railroad tomorrow.  I sorta kinda want to go with them.  But I have nursery tomorrow, Scott wouldn’t be able to go and I think Lexi is just a little too young to go.  I’m pretty sure I’d just end up carrying her around.  Anyway, we hung out at Mom’s for a bit and came home where I put Lexi to bed within about 30 minutes.  I’m now finishing up some laundry, fixing Mom’s web site and studying for the Sunday School lesson tomorrow.  I plan to go to bed fairly early as I’m pretty tired since Lexi had me up at 6:30 this morning after falling asleep at 7:30 last night.  Ugh, I hope she sleeps later tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, Scott

July 14, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

img_6909s.jpgToday Scott turned 32 today which is a long way from 18 when I met him.  I just feel so old these days.  A couple days ago he said he was getting too old to do something for his birthday but I knew his family, especially his mom, would want to do something.  But it was kind of hard to plan something since he works nights all weekend.  I told Scott yesterday we’d just order some pizza and have his parents over.  Then I saw THE dessert (which was FANASTIC)  and decided maybe make it a little bit bigger affair so last night while Scott was working I called his mom, sister, cousin and grandmother and told them to come over for lunch.  Scott woke up to a little birthday party and while there were no streamers and balloons, he thanked me quite appreciatively after everyone had gone.  I was glad he was happy and I DID work pretty hard on getting the house together, getting all the ingredients last night, making the pie today and even though the pizza was easy, I did order it all and get it myself with Lexi in tow which I think speaks for itself…and for goodness sakes I actually CALLED all his family members.  I scored mega points today but I guess I don’t get to count them since it IS his birthday.  So, happy birthday, babe.

it’s friday!

July 13, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

reading.jpgGlad it’s Friday.  This week went extremely quick even though it was very low-key all week.  I’m going to miss summer camp next week.

Tonight I braved Target by myself with the two girls even though Lexi was SO tired.  But I really wanted to get Scott’s birthday card and ingredients for the birthday dessert I’m making him tomorrow so I didn’t have to worry about anything but making it in the morning before lunch when his family is coming over.  The girls were great at Target so I decided to make a run for the grocery store to get the lemon and whipping cream that Target didn’t have.  Hang on, I have to insert Emma and I’s conversation on whipping cream.

Emma: What did you say?

Me: Heavy. Whipping. Cream.

Emma: Heby Whooping Cream?

Me: No, Hea-vy. Whipping. Cream.

Emma: Heavy Whooping Cream?

Me[trying to extremely clear]: No. Heavy. Whipping. Whipping. Cream.

Emma: Heavy Whipping Whipping Cream?

Me (laughing): No, just Heavy. Whipping. Cream. You say each word once. Heavy Whipping Cream.

Emma: Heavy Whipping Cream?

Me: Yes, Heavy Whipping Cream.

That still makes me laugh–heavy whipping whipping cream.  Anyway, on with the story…Lexi fell asleep about a quarter of a mile before the store but I went in anyway thinking she would wake up long enough to go in there.  But no, I carried a very heavy 2 year old throughout the store.  I skipped on the cart and had Emma carry the two ingredients through the store.  Lexi stayed asleep through the re-installment into the car seat and trip into the house to her bed too.  When we got home, Emma played some computer games while I cleaned up the house.  It was mostly straightened since our dinner last night, I just did the dusting and bathrooms and such.

After that, Emma and I did some of her reading lessons and guess what?  She read TWO words tonight  “mat” and “sat”.  She catches on so quickly, we do like 5 lessons at a time and it repeats itself so she’s like Mom!  I know those sounds!  I end up skipping some of the stuff just because we are doing so much in one sitting.  Probably the next session she will get to the one where she reads the sentences “see me read”.  I may cry when she does that.

So now I’m doing laundry and getting ready to watch Miss Potter which I’ve heard good reviews on.

yay for cold, filtered water

July 13, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

water.jpgWe’re getting one of these on Monday.  The Y has a fancy-dancy one that produces some excellent water that’s tapped into the main water line instead of in a replaceable jug.   I really want one as I get tired of buying and wasting water bottles and do not like our tap water too much.  But guess how much that costs a month?  $39.95 and guess how long they make you sign a contract for?  60 months!  That is ridiculous!  Some car loans aren’t even that long.  So we ended up with a nation 21 loans one.  We probably can get away with $16 a month, maybe up to $24 depending on how much we use it, ie, how much water the kids waste.  Even if we ended up with another bottle for about $32, it is still cheaper per month and the contract is only for one year.  And it’s not so permanent.  With the other, you have run a drain line as well as the water line to it.  You’d have to be pretty serious about filtered water to get one of them bad boys.

Birthday coming up

July 13, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

bday.jpgI will be 29 next Wednesday.  Usually I am super excited about my birthday but of course as the years go by, I have been less excited about adding another candle to the cake.  I REALLY am not looking forward to this one.  Because that means it is my LAST year in my 20s which means I’ll be THIRTY.  I still clearly remember being 9 and on my 10th birthday as I blew out the candles thinking, good-bye single-digit years (yes, I was a dork then too).  I don’t wanna say good-bye to my 20’s.  That means I’m all grown-up and I’m supposed to check that little 30-35 age range checkbox on surveys and I just don’t. like. that.  Yes, I’m whining.  I’m hanging on to 28 for the next 4 days and I hope someone asks me how old I am every day just so I can say 28 four more times.
