Seriously, y’all, I picked up my iPhone from the back of the recliner and it slipped out my hand, bounced off the dog’s water bowl and…onto the floor. Oh my gosh, I would have never lived that one down if it had gone into the water. Plus, I think I might have cried and gone in mourning for my iPhone. Apparently me, water and cellphones don’t mesh well.

What a day
Man, I worked until 8 pm tonight and that’s only because my Internet went down right when I needed to go pick up the girls from Awana so I just called it a night. I could have easily worked a few more hours tonight. Work all the sudden has exploded and I’m not enough person part-time to do it all.
So my day has been busy. And it’s not over.
We started painting the kitchen last night. I had a little freak-out about the color. Mom and Heather reassured me today that it was ok. So now while American Idol results are on I’m going to try to paint the kitchen. Oh and eat some dinner because I haven’t done that yet.
Emma’s getting too smart
Conversations from tonight:
Scott: When are they going to the b. e. a. c. h?
Emma: Beach!
Me: How did you know that?
Emma: The B. Beach. And the H. Bea-ch. *laughter because she’s so proud of herself*

Me, on the iPhone sitting on the couch with Emma
Scott: You’re supposed to be spending time with us.
Emma: Yeah, that’s just a phone computer.
WW: How I found her an hour after Mommy wouldn’t let her come watch TV and told her to go back to bed
AI Predictions
OK, sorry for another post on AI but if you don’t know about DialIdol and you’re an AI fan, you might want to check it out. I used it heavily during Chris Daughtry’s season. Basically it’s software a guy wrote and it uses your telephone line to dial the contestants’ numbers over and over. You can pick one person or several in a particular order. I think I got in about 300 calls a night for Chris.
ANYWAY.
The cool thing is it keeps track of how many calls go in for each person and then predicts based on a bunch of statistics who is going. I found that once it gets better the fewer contestants there are. Well, if you hop over there today, you’ll find that David A. is NUMBER ONE and not in danger of being in the bottom 3 (unlike the rest of the group). I’m telling you, if a guy can forget his words and perform that poorly and STILL be number one, I’m not sure he’s going ANYwhere. Hopefully this is a fluke and wonder boy will return next week and earn his top spot.
AI Top 12
syesha – good. she’s just doesn’t do anything for me though. she’s like cookie cutter good, i don’t find her unique and interesting.
chikezie – who was that?? that was awesome! completely different person came out tonight. if he keeps pulling stuff out like that, he’s going to make it a lot farther than i thought.
ramiele – boring. again. she’s so good but i think she’s in danger.
jason – aw…he’s so cute and the song was so sweet.
carly – wow. i love how she’s so emotionally open. it’s great to feel like you’re going on a journey with them.
david c. – i feel like he’s trying to be a little like daughtry and that’s not cool with me. at the same time, that means he’s good. * Update. I realized the stylist made is comb over go the other way and his hair looks so much better lol
brooke – very nice. though if she’s this emotional at top 12, think of a top 2 moment
david – way too much going on. make it stop
amanda – did not enjoy that in the least.
michael – nice but i tended to tune out. sort of like pretty elevator music.
kristy – not. good. she’s on the chopping block this week for sure.
david a. – david, i love you to death but this week was not very good at all.
How many people are going this week? I would say Kristy is the worst and then maybe David or Amanda if two go.
My favorites from the night? I really liked Carly, Chikezie, Jason, Brooke and David.
Hardwoods – the mess has begun
OK, so I’ve been following Ree’s Lodge posts and I’m beginning to understand her panic. When I came home yesterday, I found my baseboards missing. It looks a little like this:
and this
and this
…all in the hall, foyer, living room ,dining room, kitchen, hall closets and sun room. Yikes.
I know I said there was going to be a lot of work coming our way but I’m just not sure I was ready for the mess. But I’m trying to concentrate on the fact that that carpet and laminate flooring will soon be beautiful Walnut colored hardwoods.
The purse
I do love me some clothes and shoes but a purse person I am not.
I find a very boring, brown or tan purse and use it for months on end. Well, my mom ran into this purse at a local gift shop and decided to pick it up for me (thanks, Mom!). Honestly, I would never have picked it out but I think it’s super cute. And apparently so do a lot of people (but not everyone, I realize). I have never, ever gotten so much attention from any piece of clothing, pair of shoes or purse than I have this one.
At Harris Teeter, I was coming around my van to get Lexi out and the second my purse made it around the corner with me, the lady next to my car was like "I love your purse!"
The ladies in my church choir saw it sitting by itself in the robe room and were talking amongst themselves about whose purse it was.
Two ladies at the ATM yesterday were having a fit over it. I think I may have heard a comment similar to that stopped me mid-sentence.
And then the kicker, a (straight as far as I could tell) man behind me in line at lunch saw it and said, "Wow, look at that purse. That’s so cute!"
So I’m figuring no one has ever seen a purse quite like this. So here you go, purse people, ooo and ah over it if you like.
I certainly wish I knew where to point you online to get it but if you are really interested, email me and I can give you the local store info I got it at and maybe they can ship one to you or point you to where to get it. I think it was pretty inexpensive as far as purses go…like $30 or something and they come in lots of colors, green, red, purple, brown and pink as far as I know.
And now I can not believe I just wrote this much about a purse. That is all, you may go.
