Feathers: Faith in Flight Podcast SURVEY

November 12, 2015 by Amy Leave a Comment

FeathersiTunes2-300

Hosting Feathers: Faith in Flight this year has been an absolute joy and blessing. I’m in the planning stages of Season 3 for next January and want to make it even better for you. I’d love for you to answer questions like:

  • Would you like an app for the podcast?
  • Would you read a transcription of the episode?
  • Would you be interested in joining a private Facebook group to discuss the episodes?

I have several short questions–20, in fact.

If you’ve even listened to 1 episode of Feathers, would you take just a few minutes to answer them in the 2015 Feathers: Faith in Flight Survey?

Feathers Season 2 Episode 13 with Joy McMillan

November 3, 2015 by Amy Leave a Comment

FeathersiTunes2-300

In this episode, I finish my chat with Joy McMillan.

Joy is a speaker, writer, graphic designer, mentor & coach. She’s the founder of the We ROAR Project and the author of XES (Why Church Girls Tend To Get It Backwards…And How To Get It Right).
Wife to her handsome state trooper hubby and momma to their two little loin-fruit, they have found their home in the great mitten state.

JoyMcMillanpost

Joy shares how she grew up in a Christian home, yet had no concept of grace. Sexual perversion drove her into hiding where shame held her hostage for several years. After 7 years of secrets, just 2 months before her wedding, God asked Joy if she trusted Him with her heart – and her gaping wounds – and she stepped out of hiding.

 Scripture

One who is full loathes honey from the comb,
    but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet. Proverbs 27:7

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
    I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
    I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
    they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
    you will not be burned;
    the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:1-2

As a stay at home mom of four exuberant young daughters, Elise’s life is full of words! Needs! Feelings! Thoughts! Meals! Messes! Noise! And *lots* of seeking Jesus to stay sane through it all.

Elise is the Children’s ministry director at her home church, part-time web developer, and the artist and shop owner of her family’s online store, Little Lunch Maker. She recently realized that the sickness she’s been feeling is because a new little one is the way, arriving sometime in June next year!

The Power of Thoughts, Entanglement and an Emotional Affair: My Interview on the Mud Stories Podcast

October 8, 2015 by Amy Leave a Comment

mudstoriesamybennett

Heather and I recorded her podcast episode last Saturday. It was a last-minute one, although I’d been thinking on it for weeks. As I was sitting there, a message popped up from Jacque, would I, could I, record my emotional affair story for her podcast Mud Stories? Do you know, though, we’re 10 years out from this relationship and 4 since the eBook and I’ve never really spoken out loud about it publicly? But  without hesitation, I said yes. Remember how God has been calling me to speak this year? Yeah, this is one of those open doors I’m walking through.

I find God’s timing is impeccable to have both my sister and I sharing our stories of brokenness and redemption the same week in the same format. It’s a tale of two sisters, both with very different stories, but at the heart, finally learning that God is the lover of our souls.

It’s my prayer that even if we don’t share the same story, that you too would be beckoned by our Savior in your own mud, throw off whatever entangles you and fix your eyes on Him.

Listen right over here.
