Dear Writers,

December 18, 2007 by Amy 5 Comments

I’m not quite sure what the issue is, but I’m already missing new episodes of all my favorite shows.  Please, for the sake of all our sanity, enjoyment and addictions, hurry up and fix the problem.  Even if it’s just the writers for Desperate Housewives, House, Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and The Office, that should surely help me get through.

Thanks in advance,

Pretend Gift Basket

December 13, 2007 by Amy 7 Comments

Amanda is having a giveaway and you have to talk about theme baskets.  Well.  I am not a theme gift basket giver type person and I can’t remember a gift basket ever being given to me so I’m going to go off on a random tangent of my own.  Since this is all pretend, I’ve decided to create the Ultimate Men of TV Gift Basket.  This type of basket would be given to, if not yourself, you’re favorite girlfriend.  To truly appreciate they have to be a TV fangirl.  Just ask Allison or maybe even my sister Heather what that is.

image Since I AM an owner of One Tree Hill site, first up has to be Lucas played by Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill.  Lucas is of course a cutie.  In the tall and lanky type of way.  He would be a great present because hey, he’ll save you in a school shooting and I bet he’ll write poems for you.  Maybe even a book.  And the look.  Oh, he could give you squinty eyed looks that would melt you.

image Next up is Dan Humphrey from Gossip Girl.  Because he’s got that boy next door look.  He’s cute even when he’s shy and embarrassed.  He’ll save up every penny he can find to take you wherever you might want to go on a date but he seems to like simple dates like movies and has connections to an art gallery. Plus, he punches people that hurt his sister..that has to say something about his bravery and honor.

image McDreamy is a must for a Men of TV gift basket.  He’s McDreamy!  But not only is he dreamy, the man is a doctor.  He could fix your brain in a jiffy, you know, if it ever needed fixed.  He may need a little help in the housing arrangement department.  But hey, can we talk about how fun those office Christmas parties would be?  Except of course if you’re the Addison and not the Meredith.

image And is it possible to add McDreamy to the basket without adding McSteamy?  Can we just say "towel"?  Will that be enough as to why he needs to be in the basket?  Well, that and he’s a PLASTIC SURGEON.  That would come quite in handy down the road when even if you don’t need surgery now, those droopy eyelids and saggy neckline will eventually haunt us all.

image How about adding in some Mike Delfino?  He may have a drug problem at the moment but he’ll certainly work to death for any children you may have with him.  He can get manipulative, deceptive and violent if needed and hey, he can fix any and all plumbing problems you may have! This Toronto plumbing contractor is also one of the best plumbers I´ve ever had help me around the house.

image We could all use some Jim because I LOVE JIM!  Jim…ahhh…he’s cute in the tall and Gap kind of way.  He’s smart and witty.  You would have tons of fun playing jokes on people and yet be able to at the end of the day doing something romantic like sit on a rooftop with candles.  And I bet if you are a really lucky woman you’d get all the copy paper you needed.

image Oh boy, this basket is getting very full.  I’ll stop here and let the last one be some good eye candy…Shemar Moore of "Young and the Restless" and "Criminal Minds".  Yep, he’s just there to look pretty.

Well I guess doing a theme basket isn’t nearly as hard as I thought.  In fact, I could do several of these.  Amanda, I hope this counts!  I’m officially giving you one of these baskets and hope you enjoy!

The Hills Finale and Aftershow

December 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

So the live finale was long but good.  We got to see all the episodes leading up to the finale.  Great for someone that had missed a few weeks.  Interspersed were the arrival of the characters.  Some thoughts about that…Elodie was much more petite than I had thought.  Whitney and Audrina were stunning as usual.  Lauren looked great as usual.  Heidi looked pretty but was flaunting the new boob job WAY TOO MUCH.  Yikes. That side view was just awkward.

As for the actual finale.  Lauren and Brody seemed closer to actually spilling their guts about their feelings but why oh why are they both being so stubborn.  I was happy but unsatisfied with the good bye kiss.  It did leave us with some hope though.  Speaking of Lauren leaving, I was so excited that she was able to go to Paris.  That’s going to be lots of fun for them.  I mean I guess it is. Not like I’ve ever been to Paris or anything but the words cotillion and Paris in the same sentence has to be something good.  One more thing to note is I got mixed vibes about Lauren and Brody in the aftershow. She answered the hosts question about whether she would be the one to change Brody and she says she learned you can’t change a person. So is she talking Jason here or has she given up on Brody?   Their body language on the couches though was definitely comfortable and in no way awkward so either they’re still dating or they’ve decided to be friends with no hard feelings.  I’m still hoping for the still dating thing.

As for Heidi and Spencer…obviously I’m glad they are splitting.  And did anyone notice she did not have an engagement ring on last night?  Between that and Spencer’s no-show I’m guessing it’s done for good.  I did feel a little bad for Spencer.  He obviously loves Heidi but the guy treats her like crap.  And I think Heidi loves him too but like I’ve said in the past, I think she started to see him for who he really is and the thought of marrying him really scared her.

I loved Heidi’s comment about being engaged to a 5 year old.  Yes, she’s definitely seeing the light.  And then she completely disses him when she sends out her assistant to tell him she’s not at the office while she’s really sitting at her desk.  Ouch.  I think Heidi’s serious.

So the big announcement on the after show was NOT that Lauren was engaged or somebody got married but that the season finale was not really the season finale and we get to see Whitney and Lauren’s trip to Paris and even past that according to Lauren.  So yay!

New One Tree Hill Blog

December 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I tend to blog quite a bit about tv shows here.  Weekly there can be up to 3 or 4 shows I talk about.  For some odd reason this morning I woke up and decided I was really excited about the One Tree Hill season coming up in January and saw on opportunity for my sister and I to team up and start a blog together.

So in a very random, unplanned and turns out expensive jump, I’ve started another blog.  Things are just getting started but I have a few posts up already and plan lots more to get ready for the new season.  Every year it seems questionable whether OTH is going to survive another season but it always hangs in there.  This could be it though if it’s not a hit and this could be a short-lived side blog but hopefully it will be fun and not painful while it lasts.

I’m excited for the new season.  They’ve jumped four years over college and are now in the real world outside of school.  That kind of jump can be tough on a series but all the same actors are back and I think the writers will do us right.

If you’ve never watched the show, right now would be a great time to get caught up from previous seasons before the new ones starts January 8.

So anyway, come see me on One Tree Hill Blog!

Grey’s Anatomy Crash Into Me Part 2 December 6, 2007

December 7, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Generally, tonight was an ok episode. No major storyline moving ahead.

My favorite lines:

Meredith to Hahn when they’re working on Ray, “Shut. up!”

Lexie asks how Seth Green’s character is and he says something like, “Well, not great if I’m being honest.”

Bailey goes on her vows rant to tell Tucker and George says, “Can I just do some charts?”

George and Bailey deciding on the incision:
Bailey: Do you think it’s jagged.
George: Yeah, it’s jagged.
Bailey: I thought so too.

George saying to the white supremacist, “I believe if you were dead the world would be a better place.”

Callie after Hahn asks Sloan not to hit on her at the bar, “He still can’t promise that.”

Scenes I liked:

Hahn yelling at herself after she made a mistake.

Izzie and George at the end deciding they aren’t going to be together but decide on “maybe someday”.

The kiss! McDreamy and the nurse. Woah. I watched that through my fingers covering my eyes.

Yang telling Bailey how she took offense to Bailey taking her off of Hahn’s watch because of her skin color.

The Hills December 3, 2007

December 4, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Blogging as I watch…

I wasn’t a fan of the opening with Brody ogling other girls. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling about Lauren and Brody. I did appreciate Whitney’s observation of Lauren and Brody’s chemistry. Poor Lauren. Left alone again at the party. Audrina’s new replacement Corey is awesome! Yikes, he’s hawt. Like superhot with an accent hawt.

Wow, Stephanie spilled the beans. In some ways I can see how that was necessary but Heidi specifically asked her not to say anything.

Lauren brings up a good point at dinner with Lo with her wanting Brody not to want other girls and only want her. But, oh my goodness, she’s in for a shock. Number one, guys never quit looking. The way Brody was looking at that girl in the restaurant? Yeah, that won’t go away. And as long as he’s single, I’m thinking he’s going for any girl he wants. Number two, if you ever want a guy to do almost anything, you have to tell them. And maybe multiple times. If she wants Brody, she’s going to have to be forthcoming with her feelings. I agree with Lo. And hey, if he’s not ready to settle down with Lauren, then he should be forthcoming with her as well.

Best line in awhile, "He returns calls…Justin didn’t. He likes to kiss…Justin didn’t. He baths…Justin didn’t. Upgrade!"

Heidi and Spencer. Whew. It’s getting bad. Spencer approached that all the wrong way.

LOL, Brody has a name book in his contact list. That is hilarious. Aw, see…Brody wants to know she likes him. That was her clue..she should have said something. And now the dern show ends with a not so warm and fuzzy from them.

Previews:

Yes! End of Heidi and Spencer. Aw, Brody’s feelings are hurt. And Whitney…gets it again at work and poor Lauren.

DWTS Results

November 28, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

I couldn’t be happier.  I really wish they could have tied though.  I felt so bad that M&M didn’t get anything in the end.  The two of them had fantastic chemistry and are both so talented.  They deserve some praise too.  But if I had to pick (well, I guess I did last night when I voted) I’m glad Helio won.  His racing team is headquartered near here so the viewing and victory party has been all over the news this evening.  Very cool.  Congrats, guys!
