As Predicted

September 29, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today went pretty much as predicted.  Except for the fact I didn’t clean last night, I cleaned this morning.  I really had to force myself to though.  I SO want to hire someone to do it.  With all the let’s-save-money talk lately I can’t bring myself to make the call.

The IL’s stopped by unexpectedly to get Scott to plug their tire that went flat.  So they stayed through lunch with us.

After that I headed over to the craft fair.  It was such a great day to get out and do something like that.  The barn it was held in was the perfect setting for all the pretty handmade items.  I was really impressed with how "professional" it all looked and thought they all did a great job setting it up.  I even picked up some new earrings (currently am wearing now — love them, Jen!) and some tea from Jaynee and Jen’s mom.  Jaynee’s blankets and pictures were adorable in person.  Check them all out on etsy.  I’ll let you link to there from their sites.  I just wish they had gotten that article in our paper, I know their traffic would have been up some more.

After that, we headed home.  Lexi fell asleep before we got there so we let her sleep until it was time to go to the Progressive Dinner while we moved more pictures around the house.  Loving the changes we made too.  The living room and dining room look so much more "together".

The Progressive Dinner went really well.  Well, except the part where two of the girls CAUGHT THEIR CLOTHES ON FIRE.  Yep.  They apparently sat them down on the bathroom counter to change from being in the pool and sat them on a burning candle unknowingly.  They were at least smart enough to throw it all in the sink and turn the water on.  I think a Progressive Dinner would be extra fun with all adults and will keep that in mind for something in the future.

For now, Scott is preparing the Sunday School lesson, Lexi is rolling around the living room floor, refusing to go to sleep and I’m printing stuff for Scott and well, blogging.

More new house stuff

September 29, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Well last night we ended up going to a furniture store and fish camp with my Mom and Dad and ended up with this sideboard table for $99.

Also, Mom gave us her old table kitchen as well.  Those floral pictures came from the living room.  So now I need more pictures on the living room wall and I still need another lounge chair to replace where we put the glider in my sunroom.

I’m in a MAJOR redecorating mood and would like to go spend a couple thousand dollars if I could.

Advertising Summary

September 28, 2007 by Amy 4 Comments

OK, so this past month or two I branched out and added some advertising to my site.  It doesn’t seem like a popular thing to do as I’ve never seen anyone talk about it but I’ll share what I made and why I removed Google Adsense and AdBrite from my site.

First, you have to understand my stats before you can compare.  According to my sitemeter account, I average somewhere around 40 hits a day.  I know, baby stats compared to some.  And even though this blog is somewhat old established, I just recently even started trying to get any readers.  It’s always been about having a place for me to journal/vent (and it still is).  I also have anywhere from 10-24 feed subscribers depending on what day you visit.

So based on that, here’s what I earned this month in order of what I added.

Could be busy

September 28, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

This is shaping up to be a somewhat busy weekend.  Today I have a meeting I have to go into work for.  So I’m spending half a day up there.  Me going to work always throws our household into chaos for some reason.

This evening I don’t think MIL is getting the girls since FIL just had surgery this week.  Not sure on that one though.  If that’s the case, I probably will not get the house thoroughly cleaned..again.

Tomorrow afternoon I’m planning to go to Jaynee’s craft show at some point.  I’m hoping to meet her mother and sister.  Tomorrow evening we are holding Progressive Dinner for the youth group.  So that will take the entire evening.

Maybe since tomorrow is so busy, I’ll try to clean after bedtime tonight.

And then of course Sunday is the usual church/rest/choir/church.

September 27 Shows

September 28, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

By 11:00 last night I was so over TV this week.  I’m going to have to cut out something or quit watching everything at night or something.  But I do have to say last night was the BEST night of premiere week although all the shows I watched weren’t the premiere.

Survivor – I fast forwarded through all the challenges.  They bore me.  It seems Leslie’s good nature came out for good this week as she got the clue.  But why in the world she felt the need to actually share it with someone, I have no clue.  I wish Dave would have went but I understand why they voted Ashley.  Dave is a good worker.  But Dave is going to be Dave and I don’t think he’ll only rub Ashley the wrong way in the future.

The Office – I LOVED LAST NIGHT.  Last night might have been one of my favorites.  When they showed Jim and Pam in her car, my sister and I literally started screaming and clapping.  Woo Hoo!  And they were holding hands, awwww.  And there was funny stuff…"And she wasn’t even one of the popular ones."

Grey’s Anatomy – While this wasn’t nearly one of my favorites, I thought it was pretty good.  There were so many changes and people though it almost didn’t seem like Grey’s.  What are they going to do with all of those interns??  I miss Bailey!  I was surprisingly not upset that Derek and Meredith were breaking up.  Although I don’t really understand that conversation.  He was asking too much?  What was he asking for?  Why is it too much for her?  She obviously wants to be the girl from the bar and yet won’t give enough of herself to be that.  George’s little confession at the end was sweet but that’s going to mess things up a little.  Callie’s in for some disappointment.  Maybe she’ll get mad and leave the hospital and then Bailey can take back over.  Yes, that would be nice.

September 26 Shows

Private Practice – I was really very scared I wasn’t going to like Private Practice.  I didn’t much like it when Grey’s Anatomy showed Addison in LA but Shonda Rhimes didn’t disappoint and created a great Season Premiere of Private Practice.

Dancing with the Stars – Content with who went.

Gossip Girl – Can I just say I really like Dan?  They make it so you really want the best for him and if it wasn’t for him,  you’d pretty much hate everyone on the show.  Except for little Jenny.  And she’s headed for big trouble.  Blair and Chuck just need to get over themselves.
