Day 5

April 13, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Yesterday “the hardest day” was quite easy.  My second meeting only took me 20 minutes.  yay.

We finally heard from teh guys this morning.  I couldn’t stand it any longer and emailed M’s phone and just said let us know if you guys are ok.  Scott emailed back at 4am our time this morning and God is moving and blessing them and he misses us.  Yay!  Good news!  Honestly, it was almost as if it was someone else typing that.  Sounded like things he would say, but just in a more humble, peaceful manner.  It’s hard to explain.  But I believe (as I have from the beginning) that he will come back greatly affected by this trip.

We spent the evening at Mom’s house last night. Ate dinner then Lexi fell asleep watching Robots.  So we stayed there until about 8:15 when I sorta rushed home to hit the record button for The Office.  I also watched the Grey’s special last night.  Several of my favorite scenes in there.  And finally I stayed up to watch Children of Men.  Sorry, Jaynee, but I did not enjoy this movie whatsoever.  I even fast forwarded through the last 15 minutes.  A little predictable there at the end.  Maybe I’ve been watching too many intense movies lately but it was just too depressing/violent for me.

So Mom is coming to get the kids for the day.  I either am going to take a nap (highly unlikely) during lunch or going to the gym.  Since I haven’t been to the gym since Tuesday and I’m not a very good napper, I’ll probably be headed to the gym.  Or maybe I’ll go get a steak at Longhorn at enjoy a lunch on my own lol.

Hardest Day

April 12, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Today should be the hardest day out of all of them.  I have a meeting in 15 minutes that I should be able to get through without too much trouble but then I also have a 1:30 meeting that I’ve never attended and may require some attention.  I may have Scott’s cousin or my sister help with the kids in some way during that one.  We ARE going out to eat with my family tonight so that will take care of this evening.  Although I really want to go to the gym since I didn’t go yesterday.  I’m sorta hoping Mom offers to keep the kids tonight and then I can go later tonight or in the morning.

Running with Scissors

April 12, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

If The Good Shepherd was the most confusing movie I’ve ever watched, then Running with Scissors was the oddest movie I’ve ever seen.  That was one weird movie.  Or I should say one odd life that guy led.  I felt so bad for him and hardly wanted to watch someone have to go through all that.  I can’t really recommend it although the writing and acting were great.  It’s just too depressing.

Good-bye, legs!  I really wanted Phil to go, but I’ll take Haley.  Not surprised at the bottom 3 although unless Sanjaya steps up his game like he did last night, I’ll be sad to see Chris leave before Sanjaya.

Country week next week should be interesting.  I think Blake should pull out some Rascal Flatts.  I expect Phil to do well with a country ballad.  Someone will pull out some Faith…probably would have been Haley if she had made it.  Not sure how Lakisha, Melinda and Sanjaya will fair.

Day 4

April 12, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

So last night’s spaghetti dinner was a complete flop.  We only made $60 and hardly anyone came.  Probably due to spring break and the rain.  I think we are doing a car wash to raise some more money for youth camp.  But every student costs $270 to go so we better have a GREAT car wash.

The girls spent the afternoon at MIL’s.  Which was nice.  It was odd after they left I actually smiled.  Not because they were gone but because it was sort of the middle of the week and I was so proud of myself for taking good care of the girls, the house and even getting the trash taken out yesterday.  That’s sounds stupid, but I was.

We haven’t heard anything since yesterday morning from the guys.  I knew they’d be horrible at checking in with us.  They need a woman delivering all the details!

AI Top 8

April 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

Seems to be mixed feelings about performances last night.  What I thought…

Blake – best of the night, hands down.  he’s just so COOL

Phil – bad, didn’t enjoy it at all.  hurt my ears and i wanted to fast forward

Haley – legs, unimpressive singing, she can go any time

Jordin – very impressed.  she actually sounded good compared to some of the others last night.  she keeps getting better and better.

Melinda – i didn’t get the sexy thing last night although her vocals were good

Lakisha – she’s going downhill quickly.  just nothing different.  not improving.

Sanjaya – wow, i actually thought he did well last night.  improvement like that every week and he might make top 5 after all

Chris – eh, he’s never been one of my favorites and he looks great and all but his vocals just don’t match the others.

Dialidol has Lakisha at the bottom and I’m not surprised.  I really want Phil to go though.

The Good Shepherd

April 11, 2007 by Amy Leave a Comment

This movie might be the most confusing movie I have ever seen.  I love Matt Damon and I enjoyed him in this.  But he didn’t speak much, which was a quality of this lead character.  He looks good without speaking so no complaints here.  Which has nothing to do with the actual movie..so moving on…This movie, I later found out, was about the start of the CIA.  Everything about this movie was about codes and secrets and information and disinformation and make you go crazy kind of thing.  Most of the movie was tied together by finding out two things…one, who around him had alerted the Russians before the Bay of Pigs and two, who or what or where was the picture that was left under his door at the beginning of the movie.  It turns out the two are tied together.  But anyway.  I ended up “getting” that part of the movie but there were several things you just knew were important and had hidden meaning but you just couldnt’ figure out the double-speak or codes.  I read some things online that explained a few things.  I’d like to watch it again to see if it’s easier to watch but it’s 3 hours so I’m not sure I want to spend another 3 hours of my life watching this ultra-detailed movie.  I’m very surprised they cast Angelina Jolie in this movie.  Ignored housewife doesn’t seem to fit her.  I’m not sure whether to recommend this movie it is so much work.  It seems worth checking out just to see if you “get it” and it does spawn some good conversation.  Much kuddos to the writers and other makers of the movie though.  Wow, couldn’t have thought of all that.
