Why I love

March 20, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

This whole conversation was said in whispers like a secret

Emma: You know why I love S?

Amy: Why?

Emma: Because she comes to play with me.

You know why I love Daddy?

Amy: Why?

Emma: Because he’s my daddy.

You know why I love you?

Amy: Why?

Emma: Because you’re my mommy.

You know why I love Jesus?

Because he died on the cross for us.

The best part of my day

March 20, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

photo.jpg This was taken today at lunch.  That surely is not something I fixed at my house.

Today turned out a bit crazy.  Around 11:30 my Internet went down and today was not a day I could afford it being down.  I had deadlines and conference calls about my deadlines.    So I went to a little coffee/ice cream shop near us with free wi-fi and ended up with quite a nice afternoon.  That is broccoli and cheese soup in a sourdough bread bowl.  Yum. Me.  Wow.

Around 1 Scott ensured me our Internet was up so I went home only to find the connection down again so I turned around and went back to the coffee shop.  Around 3 the Internet went down there so I relocated once again to my Mom’s shop.  I came home to find my Internet down still but thankfully it’s back up so you can the lovely picture of the best part of my day.  The only thing you couldn’t see is my pretty little iPhone which is what took the picture.  Coffee, ice cream, bread, laptop, ice water, iPhone, and TV.  Yes, yes, it was a mahvelous few hours.

oh the caffeine of it all

March 20, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Well, that was the title of a post I wrote from my iPhone last night at 12:30am and guess what?  The browser shut down and lost it.  Fabulous.

Today is the day our hardwoods are supposed to be in.  I’m anxiously awaiting a call from them. I called this morning to see if they were in since they told us the trucks come in at night but when I talked to them he said they deliver during the day now.  So now I’m on pins and needles seeing if we can get started soon.

In the meantime, I’ve been working lots of overtime with work and spending almost any free time counseling youth and family members on their respective issues.  I never realized how tiring giving advice is.

It’s not morning yet!

March 19, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

I had to go into work early this morning and Scott had to work a night shift last night so I had SIL pick the girls up and take them in for early stay at 8. I warned them the night before I’d have to wake them up early. Well, ‘member when I said the girls would have a hard time getting up early when Emma starts school? Yeah, well, here’s proof.

I went to wake them up at 7:15 and told them they needed to get up. They started stirring in bed but no eyes opened. Emma says, “Mommy?” I said yes? She says, “My eyes won’t stay open.” I couldn’t help but laugh. I had opened the blinds but it was overcast. Lexi sits up and points at the window and says, “It’s not morning yet!!!”

So I let them sleep a few more minutes while I got their breakfast started and I came back to find them trying to get up. Emma says, “Mommy, everything looks fuzzy!”

Needless to say, I think the mornings are going to be hard to get used to come fall.

AI Top 11

March 18, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Is this even worth a post? Bad, bad night. Didn’t overly enjoy anyone. I kept saying everyone was boring. Syesha I guess was nice. Brooke was cute as normal. Chikezie was enteraining but a little corny. Jason was very corny. David A. was so much better than last week but a bit forgettable. Carly may have been my favorite of the night.

Who should go?  How shall I pick?  Ramiele I think is my top pick.  Amanda could go too and I’d be ok with that.

Go see more opinions on tonight here.

Trying to come up for air

March 18, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

Sorry for the lack of updates but I’m heads down at work and around the house. We’re having production issues that keep getting escalated. I have done nothing exciting the past few days. Yesterday I worked late and then had SIL and BIL over for dinner. Made a quick CVS trip as well and did the Dove deal listed at moneysavingmom.com and then settled in for the night with The Bachelor.  I think this season is going to be great.  I heart his accent.

The interview

March 17, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

So our paper just called to do the interview on my One Tree Hill site.  Can I be honest?  I felt like the biggest dork EVER.  I kept rambling on about the show and knew way too many facts about what he was asking.  He asked me to describe the show and I said it’s basically a teenage drama about a group of friends and following them through life.  He says, like 90210 basically?  Yes, I said.  He asked if there were any other shows I was just as passionate about?  And then I realized OMG I’m passionate about One Tree Hill.  A teenage drama.  I felt about this big (imagine my fingers squished together).  But then we got to the part about the money and I could proudly say I’ve made almost $550 just in the past two weeks and then thought, hey, who cares? I MADE $550 in TWO WEEKS off a fan site on a TEENAGE DRAMA.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

I’m not a big holiday person really.  Emma has mentioned on more than one occasion we need more decorations for whatever holiday it was.  I have exactly zero St. Patrick’s Day or Easter decorations out as we speak.  You know, I have some Easter towels I need to get out now that I think of it.  Anyway, for some reason I made sure we all wore green today.  I even went to Wal-Mart at 9 last night to buy the girls new green t-shirts to wear today to school.  I guess the thought of getting pinched was just too much.

I was listening to the radio this morning and she had a little St. Patrick’s Day story that I thought was cute.  Her husband homeschools their children (I have never, ever heard of a husband doing that…anyone?) and he gave their daughter the sentence “I saw a rainbow in the sky” and she had to finish the story.  This is what she wrote:

I saw a rainbow in the sky.  I followed the rainbow to the end and there was a pot of gold and a leprechaun.  I pushed the leprechaun and grabbed the pot of gold and ran away.

They always did say homeschooled children are pretty smart.
